You do realise that to play WAFL League football is a privilege not a right..you have to be good enough at the end of the day to play in the second best Australian Rules Football Competition in the world Tug?
There are only 22 positions available each week maybe have a look at my Local Zone Talent % to see which clubs are proactive in Colts through to League development!

Totally agree bh, wafl clubs inability to properly develop talent is why the wafc must take control.

Bh figures, either wafl can't identify talent and take too many kids or they are incapable of properly developing footballers

You mean the same WAFC that wasted millions of football money on buffoons like Walton, Santner, Cooper, Dorrington et al who actually delivered nothing other than expensive golden handshakes...the same WAFC that wasted $ million$ of WA football money on the doomed and ultimately failed Perth Stadium Management rights despite already knowing (or more appropriately told) what the end result would be and still went ahead and wasted the millions...the same WAFC that has just wasted $350k on a report from an ES company with a set agenda...would you like me to go on?
The very same WAFC to now run the Colts and development...haha yeah good luck with that!

Also one for Tugboat and Gavin Taylor (seeing as tho afl sycophant Duffield wasnt game or smart enough to ask in the ABC interview yesterday) which system/state produced the current 2 best forwards in the game- Franklin & Kennedy, the best defender- Rance & arguably the best mid- Fyfe, not to mention the NAB Rising Star of Round 1- Powell-Pepper...surely it couldnt have been those hopeless developers of talent the WAFL clubs?! :whistle:

As a matter of interest if you were having a review of footy in WA and obviously that includes the WAFL would you think that the group conducting the review would NEED to consult the WAFL clubs as part of the review?

I suspect that if it was a dinkum review rather than a facade the answer would be YES.

I asked a Swans' Director the clear and unambiguous question: did the BCG consult Swans? The clear and equally unambiguous answer was NO.

I have been given a copy of the review in toto that I will be reading in the next couple of days so I can provide a clear response to be sent to several people including my local members of parliament and also the MLA for Bassendean as well as to the WAFC. Likewise I think it is necessary for all other WAFL supporters to get involved in this campaign to totally reject the proposed recommendations.

I also said to the director that should the proposed recommendations be put into place then there should be a motion put to the next AGM to disband Swan Districts Football Club as there would be no point in continuing and hence have a swift death rather than a slow, lingering death. Rest assured the only rationale for the proposed changes is to see the end of the WAFL as we know it.

There is a track record of corpses of footy competitions already: the Tasmanian footy leagues no longer exist; the VFA no longer exists. The next one to go is the WAFL and then it will be the SANFL's.

As for the reported comments of Gavin Taylor? He should resign immediately and take his FAILED new stadium management reputation with him and ho back from whence he came.

Boston report is nothing other than an exercise to gain AFL funding - the asking price is 1. AFLWA created (WAFC) 2. Removal of Colts to AFLWA

All draft fees go to AFLWA to be then spent on AFLWA youth programs & special projects

No money has been spent in WA by the AFL - it has been spent in other areas due to there being 2 AFL clubs located there

No mention or clarification around club sponsors who support youth squads in each club & how they will be affected in long term sponsorships
No mention of how AFLWA will support those affected

List goes on

How many AFL potential players lingering around in amateur ranks were interviewed by the Boston Group ...surely these players who have had their careers ruined by poor development channels are the ones we need to learn from???

DW it would be interesting indeed to see who the BCG actually consulted.

Here is my list:

(i) WAFC and associated employees;
(ii) West Coast Eagles;
(iii) Fremantle Dockers;
(iv) the AFL;
(v) M Sheahan and the TAC clubs;
(v) the already constructed prior to the review WAFC supplied recommendations.

As I said in another psot Swans weren't consulted. It is patently clear that the East Perth FC weren't consulted.

Were WAFL clubs' supporters consulted? Patently not given the timing of the review.

How many games of league did Kennedy, fyfe and Franklin play at wafl?

For that matter how many years did they all spend at a wafl club?
