It makes for some interesting reading as follows-

SD- 78%
CL- 78%
EF- 68%
SF- 64%
WP- 59%
$U- 45%
PH- 36%
PL- 36%
EP- 27%

Not surprising to see both SD & CL leading the way again with local zone players even tho both clubs have been decimated by the draft over the last decade and were the 2 leaders in the field last year as well.
As one of the charters of the WAFC is developing & providing a pathway for local zone talent by each WAFL club it makes it astounding some clubs receive the same development grant from the WAFC each season despite not fulfilling the charter.
I would have thought anything under 55% which is only 12 players out of the 22 being local to be unacceptable and not worthy of receiving the development grant some clubs readily but somewhat sheepishly accept each season!

Out of interest BH how many local district boys did you have down for the weekend game?

Sorry for SF mate

For SF 14 of the 22 from your zone of which 6 of those 14 were from the bush mate.

For SF 14 of the 22 were from your zone of which 6 of those 14 were from your country zone mate, a good result and what all clubs should strive for as a minimum.

Interesting - so Braden Fimmano didn't get an opportunity & neither did Sokol

Absolute & utter crap

Sokol got a few opportunities & would have had more this year given the AFL fiasco took Dell Ollio out

And we all know about Ned Fimmano's son & the sly job done there

Thanks BH....I would argue Pickett is 15 as we recruited him as mature age recruit not sure he had any affiliation to WAFL club or zone?

Still too low IMO as it should be 70-75% local talent every week minimum.

I do know Marlion's story Southerner. Just not sure how he could be interpreted to be a SD product?

Funnily enough mate Marlon is listed from Swan Districts (I believe it may have been our Amateur side) in the Budget but from Manjimup in the Bouncedown magazine.
I agree all WAFL clubs should be looking at giving our own kids as much League exposure as possible & I was rather lenient with 60% which is 13 out of the 22 that take the field each week ...not surprising that 1 clubs supporters got on the defensive straight away no points for guessing which 1 either!
