Well - there must be some unknown injury concerns because there's at least a couple of staggering omissions & inclusions really

Can anyone tell me why Subiaco have such a low number of representatives in the State Team? They are one of the best teams in the competition and you would expect there to be more than 2 players from that club in the WA team? I smell a rat.

There were 9 Subiaco players named in the initial squad
Wheeler
Delahunty
Jackson
Heal
Kitchen
Horsley
Cockie
Phelan
Shepheard

8 of those 9 played against Peel on Sunday ( Delahunty was presumably injured). You would expect at least another 3 or 4 of those to walk into the State team under normal circumstances. For example, Matt Riggio has had a reasonable season as a midfielder but in no way would I consider that he has been better than say Horsley and Cockie. It begs the question to me whether or not there has been a cap put on the number of Subiaco players in the team, why this would be the case and if this is true what the point is of having these State games if the best side cannot be selected?

Just asking the question BH. It just seems highly unusual that out of those 8 fit players, only 2 ended up being selected, yet some of the ones overlooked certainly have better form and credentials than some of the guys from other clubs who were selected. To me its poor selection or something else is going on here.

So you are assuming then that this group of Subiaco players have not suddenly developed that debilitating condition called "general soreness"

As for the game, I'm positively flabbergasted and pleasantly surprised that the WAFC have actually come up with this great bit of promotion, obviously when they are left alone without the undue pressure of their AFL masters they can make sensible decisions, I'll be there on the outer wing to support WAssies.

SS for the record I believe it was Swans' President, Peter Hodyl, who had to lobby the WAFC extremely hard to allow free entry to the game. It was MOST ASSUREDLY NOT a WAFC initiative.

Cheers Swan, how silly of me to think they had any initiative.
