This thread has been an informative and interesting read. There are a lot of creative suggestions from people who are passionate about the WAFL. Now we just need someone from the WAFC to have a look at this stuff and take some action before our competition goes down the toilet.

Unfortunately the WAFC is a heavily AFL-infiltrated & hopelessly influenced rabble Mike
Blatantly obvious they are as weak as piss compared to the SANFL who do everything in their power to stick two fingers up to the Viccos while running a top class comp

Oh and 'Beas mate - yeah that little weasel is just another version of Mister Potato Head Walton , imagine wanting to keep Subi Oval & at what cost jesus where do these Arse monkeys get dug up from

Well actually there is Torana

It is way past time that the two AFL scumbags in WA were put in their place full stop

Those WCE scumbags have always thought they were bigger than the very game itself and I'll be honest , they have no place & fark all right to be associated with Foundation Day

But then again what else do you expect from a "club" that covered up louses like Chick , Cousins , Fletcher , Gardiner , Kerr and so forth

It's about time the AFL influence is removed from our game here

If we cant move to a Summer Night Comp the only other option i can see is Pokies and the wonderfull facilities that come with them.It good to read all the ideas but simply its been tough going since the 2nd AFL side arrived in WA.Theres no way Barney will give the Wafl clubs pokies without everyone else being up in arms,ie Racing Codes and all other sporting and Rsl clubs.
I still believe the Wafl has to come to the people because the people are not coming to the WAFL.The A League is building well in its Summer spot. But would get a hiding if played in Winter V Afl+Nrl.

GTR, the annoying thing re the pokies is that WA is so far out of step with the other states that have had them in pubs & clubs for decades and the sky hasn't fallen in or there hasn't been anarchy in the streets over there, why do these wowsers think we are so different or so pathetic that we cant decide what we can and cant do with our hard earned. Those with gambling problems have every conceivable betting option you can think of already available especially all this online stuff so pokies in the clubs will have zero additional negative effect but significant positive effect for the clubs and the Govt coffers. To me it's a no brainer, but you can bet the AFL teams will oppose it as the last thing they want is a bunch of well funded and resouced WAFL clubs with the financial werewithall to challenge them in their ivory towers.

absolutely spot on

WA so far behind, fark me SA and Tas have had them for years, and then theres us.

The entire club network here suffers as a result footy clubs , bowling clubs, rsls, are like broke shacks compared to over east.

bugger all is provided as a form of compensation for not having a revenue stream like SANFL clubs, its a disgrace really.

stupidly we lose on GST as well, because Vic NSW drag in 3 billion in cash via pokies a year that is not counted towards the GST dish out.

but my main concern is getting some viability into our clubs, the longer we go the more we are reliant on AFL funds and the more you rely on them the more you do as you are told.

time to grow up and give us half a chance.

Packer's mob must laugh themselves silly with their business over here no competition whatsoever like they have in all the clubs over East and he doesnt even sponsor our comp or any of our clubs (bar the Budgies) and from next year is about to get near on 60,000 footy fans on his doorstep every weekend spending $$$$ in his establishment ...good ol WA hey!

Its bs senior even things like the cage ban & other wa sporting & non sporting laws that don't match the rest of the country. Someone should start a change.org petition - allow pokies in wa sporting clubs in line with the rest of the country
