LH I would take anything S&S aka Bazza says with a grain of salt (as he has proven here with his way out crowd guesstimates) as he is always negative about anything to do with the WAFL!

I would have thought the WAFL figures would reasonably accurate the attendants seem to mark a sheet as you walk through the door, members etc.

I am pretty chuffed with attendance on Saturday at Lathlain.

We currently don't have the biggest crowds, I am hoping that a few wins will bring the Perthies out of the woodwork.

Should be a good crowd at Basso as usual with your good support again hopefully a few more Perthies get along with our 2/2 start. Also hopeful of a good game, we're coming to get you Swannies.

I was very impressed with 2653 at the Peel v EF game on Good Friday.

Cannot believe there were only 2372 at Basso who traditionally have good crowds either way. Perhaps a Easter Monday game would have been a better option.

Yes Swans v Claremont should have been a stand alone game on easter monday.
EF v Peel could have been played on saturday or even sunday and spread it out over the entire weekend. Although Swans and Claremont was the match of the round, Claremont has very little following. It's bizarre really, if SD, WP or dare I say it Perth, were the dominant team in the comp then their crowds would be much bigger.

Peel V East Freo 2653 (Looks like the Sunday Times was fairly accurate!)
Subi V East Perth 3406
Perth V South Freo 2278
Swans V Claremont 2372

Total 10509

It would be great to be able to get these numbers every week and then we could build on it from there.

No need to play the Peel v EF game on Saturday or Sunday. Crowds in the previous 3 years down in Mandurah on Easter Saturday were 2012 - 1329 & 1573; 2011 - 1477; 2010 - 1496 & 1625. No neutral supporters will go to the Mandurah so the Good Friday game was a winner.

They're not bad figures in all reality. I've heard NRL games called on the radio where they have announced crowds of around 3,500. The NRL without a doubt is the second biggest football code/league in the country.

Night games are the answer for bigger crowds IMO.

Don't forget the SD v CL game was telecast live on the ABC.

It always takes 500-1000 off the final figure.

I must admit, after a long Friday with 4 grades at Leederville, I chose to stay home and watch the ABC.

All in all a good round. When we fixture away from WCE/Dockers we win.
