The true, uneventful, story is that we arrived and were ready to play, but the power was out at the ground. Given that it was a 5pm game we kind of needed the power to be able to see in the second half of the battle. We waited until 5pm, which is when the lights are supposed to automatically come on. They did not. We waited a bit longer. Still nothing. We went home.

I imagine we could have pushed for a forfeit, but were happy to call it a draw given it was completely out of their control.

A bye and a 0-0 draw is great preparation to face the top-of-the-table rampaging Coolbinnians this Saturday.

I'd suggest if the upcoming team you play cantkick focus on their sides in the above grade and not have a giant in the ruck and at ff they'd actually be competetive there and not relegation bound. just saying. Yes I'm aware it happens all over the grades

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to stay away from ruck duties and the back line (not that that's ever been a problem) and see what happens. Admittedly we have a couple of guys in our side who could be playing higher (and a few who should be playing lower?), but are unable to train, are a bit older and just want to play with some mates and not take it too seriously. This I don't have a problem with.

Although if we lose and they have some superstars then expect to see some full blown whinging through the anonymity of the keyboard on Monday.

Good luck can't kick hope you have a great win. I did state it happens all over the grades. Hamersley did it in d2 where it was ex a graders that just wanted to play with their mates that weren't up to their level they won a flag good on them. I wish I was good enough to choose where I played.

I'm right there with you. I suggest I'd be one of the last picked in E9 if the teams went that low.

Stunning turn of events. 4.5 wins from 5 has really got the suburbs of Brentwood and Booragoon buzzing and all the attention will be focused on our performance. I believe they're streaming the game live in to the food court at Garden City.

I find it hard to believe a club would be stacking their 3rds side at rd8 when their top side can still avoid relegation.... it would not be the first time.. but every club iv been involved with the league team comes first and as a club the last thing you want is to be relegated and would be feilding your strongest league side possible and even then i dont understand clubs that start stacking their 3rds side with league and reserves players 1. How do you treat your players that been playing 3rds all year like that 2. what satisfaction does a club get winning a 3rds flag with a team of league and reserves players.... i would be absolutely embarrassed in winning a flag in 3rds with a team of league and reserves players.... yes it happens but that says something about the people in charge of these clubs and the morals they hold.... in saying that i hope come finals it does not happen in E3's this season cause it is as an even comp ive seen and would be a shame to see a league/reserves side take out the flag !
