This week has seen Ellenbrook depart the finals race in a good natured contest (with beers afterwards) and Noranda well beaten by Coolbinia West Perth.

Next week will see Noranda once again take on Gosnells. Venue to be advised.

Should be a cracker!!!

Well last game was a cracker and went down to the wire and can't see this one being any different with a lot more on the line as no next week for the loser and 12.35 at percey doyle reserve in duncraig

Apart from sending us to Secret Harbour, Warnbro or similar, they couldn't have given either of a much greater distance to travel!!

Yep I was certain.. we were going to secret harbour.... And since living in forrestfeild... I would have been more than happy to have played the game at your ground again.... haha

I picked that they would have us follow E2 around though our ground is free this week as our League and Reserves teams both playing at Ballajura.

At least it gives the kitchen staff some time off and an opportunity to watch some football for a change.

I see that at Sorrento this Saturday, the Gosnells Hawks are playing the Noranda Hawks in E3 and the Hamersley Carine Hawks are playing in E2.

Amazing!!

A 300% increase in the number of Hawks since the Gosnells Hawks were formed in 1911!!!

Tough game with a lively last quarter (1 red card (Noranda) and 1 yellow card (Gosnells) though generally played in good spirits.

Noticeable difference in umpiring with the number of free kicks and their quickness off the mark with handing them out.

Noranda not scoring in the third quarter did not help their case, though Gosnells only managed 1.4, missing many easy shots.

Next week will see Gosnells take on Coolbinia West Perth at a venue yet to be announced.

2017 should see both these teams move into E2 where the level of competition and standards will be much tougher. Warnbro Swans and Willeton are the likely candidates for relegation.

Well done Birdman ... the better team won... and the scoreline made it look closer than it was... with you lads missing some easy shots.... pretty sure my best coaching of the day was telling no 9 to offload a torpie... when he was right in front of us and it going thru.... Thank you Godzilla. It has been an interesting season and yes, we have had some interesting games. Team stability has been a key factor for us this year, plus really good numbers and the willingness to come to training.

I didn't think No 9 (Kyle Wood) would make the distance (or even attempt to) so I wasn't watching - I was looking to see who would lead and where they would lead to.

Saturday will be hard one - and they are sending us to Wanneroo!!!

Last time we made finals (2014), we went out in straight sets - so pleased we didn't this year.

Well to wrap up the season .... the waafl got E3's right this year which was a close season all year and top 3 sides neck and neck all year and come finals the top 5 went out in the order they finished with coolies finishing on top and taking out the premiership ... have played against them for longer than I can remember and have had some great battles over the years ... so congratulations ... Well deserved lads .... finally to wrap it up I think the season was mostly played in great spirits with a bit of friendly banter and a few upsets along the way ... have to say it's been one of the best seasons I've been involved with even tho we got knocked out in the preliminary final... looking forward to 2017 and best of luck to all sides next season..... over and out !
