I didn't think Hawthorns pressure was supreme yesterday. WCE just kept coughing it up with poor execution and poor decision making.....dare I say it that they didn't play like a team

Perceived pressure agreed... with a game plan that got clinically dissected by an amazing football team...loved watching every moment of it as a neutral....whilst it wasn't a classic contest I witnessed some of the best footy one could wish to see in the first half by the Hawks....some brilliant skills on display

Hodges goal from the boundary was a beauty DW.......as was Lake's spoil on Hill in the goal square, both those events summed up Hawthorns mental and physical dominance and prowess over WCE on Sat.....pure self belief to execute ones skill set on the grandest of all stages........a pleasure to watch such a great team in action....they did it the hard way in these finals and fully earnt that 3rd flag.......cant think of one team in the comp this year who could of done that feat.....not one.

You're lovin this unk...but then 92 & 94 are very hard to forget for us old blokes hey? Who knows - if history repeats, your bunch of Scott clones may get another go at your masters next year   Funny how the vultures who have had little to say while we were winning are suddenly full of voice (or is it shit?). Not only that, but these voices are the ones that "would NEVER follow or watch the AFL". Now, I know you're not hypocrites are you???

I am just reporting facts there 58. I have said this year the Eags have played good footy ( and they have). Its the excuses that SOME people are coming up with that shytes me to tears mate. Hawks travelled west twice in three weeks, Eagles would have been fresher, 31 degree weather was supposed also to favour the Eags.

Don't disagree with this unk, but in the circles I travel in, no one is making excuses - we were beaten by the team/club that is the best ever seen in the short history of the AFL. The Eagles didn't turn up on the day - for whatever reason and paid the ultimate footy price.

It was a very polished, professional and complete game by Hawthorn and we should just acknowledge that without the crap!

Spot on. Freo had their chance against the Hawks & also got belted. Runner up is better than not making the GF.

Nope makng the GF and losing is worth jack shyte, who cares if ya make it there??

Ohh i reckon Geelong 2007 was the best team in 20 years. 9 AA in that mob. Basically unbeatable. the Hawks have been beatable, BUT thier high level of consistantly winning flags is brilliant and cant e under estimated.

Spoken like a man who follows a team that didn't make the GF.

Finishing in second spot now means that they play the top sides more often next season. It will be interesting to see them play the top sides twice to see how they pull up. Yep they beat tops sides, but also had an easy run very early.
Will they come back next season, only time will tell. But I am suspecting that they will struggle.
A few who will he looked at in hard terms after that capitulations I am thinking.
The Yellas supporters are taking it as a given that they will make the GF again next season. They think it is written already and it is their God given right to be there. Maybe it is like the little boy in the grave yard, "whistling in the dark to keep the boogie man away".

Touche Unk. And what about the Sunday Slimes putting the losing team on the front page and a 4 disposal player at that, and not showing the respect to a 3 peat champion team it deserved . Typical of WA press how many 3 peats has there been in VFL/AFL history not many
