Being a bit biased IF Cats get dangerfield Zac smith henderson and maybe s selwood, and given a reasonable run with injuries, could be around the mark. Dangerfied selwood ( x2) caddy duncan guthrie, aint a bad mid field.

I agree UNK,if the Eagles can land there targets and get a fit McKenzie back on the park to release McGovern forward and Duggan comes on in the midfield then they should be around the mark.
Maybe not top 2 perhaps 3,4 or 5 finish with the tougher draw.

I reckon the Cats are going to have to give up a fair bit to land those 4 especially if the Eagles and Adelaide match the offers put to Dangerfield and Selwood.
If they can get all those players and with and easier draw then finals is well and trully back on the cards for the cats.

Everyone keeps forgetting Eagles are going to have to give up plenty to get those players there is no way they get them for nothing

No 1st Round draft pick giving it up for Reďden. No guarantee that Jetta deal can play out unless they let Sinclair go or have something up their sleeve everyone is unaware of. And lastly they are bitching they only got a 2nd round compensation for Selwood, a bloke who could not make their GF 22. So unless they trade out a big name (ie Darling but highly unlikely) no First Rounder

I dont think anyone has said the Eagles are going to get players for nothing.
It obvious they will have to give something up whether thats draft picks or a player.

Selwoods injuries and the fact he just wasnt match fit,he butchered the ball on the few times he got it in the QF cost him a place in the GF.

When you look at what Melbourne got for Frawley last season i think its fair enough to complain what the Eagles got for Selwood.
Should have at least got a late first round pick, based on age, games played,VC,F&B winner.....
It is what it is i suppose.

Or maybe they should not have gone in "gung ho" for Redden and gave up the First Rounder until the Selwood move played out in full

Redden was contracted to the Lions next season so he was always going to cost a bit more.

In a shallow draft year pick 17 probably doesnt get you a great deal and rarely gets you a player thats ready made,Redden is at least ready to go.

Trade week you snooze you lose.

True, but don't think Redden was looking to go anywhere else, Eagles just sooking Don't recall them saying much when they got Ellis for nothing, and got Yeo for a 2nd Rounder, who gets a game ahead of Selwood nearly every day of the week. Only one thing to concur from this Eagles are whining sooks.

Gee kirbs, for someone that obviously hates the Eagles so much, you certainly know things about them that no one else does! Perhaps you're secretly admiring them from afar :woohoo:

Terry Wallace hit the nail on the head by saying if WCE think Selwood is a 1st round compo pick....why wasn't he good enough for a top 22 spot in the clubs two most important games in the last 5 years?.....obviously the club thought other wise thus his low compo pick....reckon the guy will struggle to get a game at Geelong anyway.....not too sure why Nisbett is having a hissy fit......

WCE thought give up pick 17 for Redden, we will get a 1st round pick anyway for Selwood....win win all round.....mmmmm not so Mr Nisbett.....not nice being on the wrong end of the unforgiving all eating AFL machine is it WCE?......suck it up WCE and move on just like the WAFL has to do when they get stepped on by the AFL....

Injuries and fitness cost him a spot in the best 22 in the GF.
He struggled in the QF,with the pace of the game.

A fully fit Selwood would have been in the best 22 on GF day,he was dropped due to fitness, plain and simple.

I suppose when Melbourne via Frawley and Silvia leaving get generous picks handed to them one has to ask the question.
Plus Geelong give Carlton a future first round pick for Henderson going to his 3rd club and with poor form??
I think a late first round pick would have been jusified or a pick between 20 -25 imo would have been fair.

Terry Wallace is a Knob and is one bloke in the media i pay no attention to.
