The weather forecast is not looking too good for Saturday unfortunately. Hopefully, there will be a good turn-up of Swans' supporters as we are not likely to get too many Peel supporters coming up to Basso. Our next two games will provide the impetus for the remaining matches against Claremont, West Perth and East Freo.

Personally I am looking forward to a good showing in all three grades on Saturday.

Good result in the colts against East Perth. Obviously, the decision to play some of our colts' players in some ressies matches have helped in their development.

Surely the stats on waflonline from that colts game are not correct. Only 5 swans players with 10 or more possessions and 1 over 15. It's also impossible to have 20 scoring shots from 16 foward entries.

agreed Mad Dog, very strange..
good to see some of the colts players back with the colts, didnt see the point of having so many in reserves when our colts were getting smashed, cant see how that is good for their development..
fair enough putting 2-3 up but not 5 or 6 like some weeks..

Aidan Smith must be the only player in the history of the game to have kicked a goal without having a stat according to waflonline!! :S

Swans cannot afford any more slip ups or slow starts otherwise finals hopes will be out the window. Peel have 3 wins to their credit at Bassendean over the last 4 years, so we cannot afford to take them lightly even though they seem in a mess at the moment with Coaches, Water boys and the canteen lady playing for their reserves.

Surely playing against men in the ressies will accelerate their development rather than staying in the colts and playing against players of similar ages and experience. One of the advantages WA players who are drafted to the AFL over their Victorian contemporaries is that they are able to play against older, stronger and more experience players.

Whilst I concede that the promotion of colts' players to the ressies has resulted in some significant defeats by the colts it has also provided some opportunities for other players to play in the colts' team. I believe that whilst we have to endure some short term pain the longer term advantages outwieigh the disadvantages. Yes, I do watch all of our colts' matches which are played at he normal time and at the normal venues.

Whilst I make no commitment to the veracity of the statistics waflonline it is possible to have more than one scoring shot from an entry into the 50 metre arc. For example, a team may kick a behind and the resulting kickin does not go beyond the 50m arc and then another score occurs from the attacking team.

no problem with colts players getting promoted, just think we went overboard and put too many up at once..
doesnt matter who you are or how old you are - getting thrashed is not good for a kids confidence or development and the 16 year olds need to have some older kids around to help their development..
last week showed when you have the right mix good results can happen..

Agree in principle with you but we are facing the loss of a number of players next year due to the alignment in combination with a number of players likely to be drafted. I would expect the likes of Garlett, Lobb, Cameron and possibly a few others to be drafted. So we may potentially be lloking at needing to find between 6 and 10 players from our regular 2013 league team for next year.
