Lobby was great today, geez I hope he doesn't get drafted..don't forget we had Simmo and Jetts missing today which would have made a huge difference. Hilda is getting past it I reckon, he cant hit a target now and looks cooked. Good to see Pratty getting back into it in Ressies the past few weeks maybe a league birth before the year is out?! A relief to get the 4 points and now a chance to cement 3rd and challenge for 2nd..but a massibe improvement from today is required and really today was no cause to sing the song afterwards

Swandog while I agree with comments on Ugle and Boeky (remembering he is a youngster finding his feet) the comments on Hilda are ridiculous. He was knocked out 7 days ago and these conditions arent suited to him. Havr you forgotten his emphatic Swan Medal win less than 12 months ago? He should be top 6-7 this year too. Also great to see Pratt back, not sure where he will fit in the back 6 though with Broad and Casserley coming in and doing well, might be tough for him. Burnham could come in for Elari, he has been struggling.

A win at WAFL level in those conditions is never easy, singing the song is always relevant.

Each to their own mate, maybe I shouls give Peel a bit more credit, but re Hilda, I go to every single game and in my opinion he has started to decline a little in his ball use and decision making, being knocked out last week is irrelevant, I cant fault his running power etc but my thought is he looks a bit jaded sluggish and slow in getting rid of the ball, maybe the week off will be just the tonic and i hope he is back to his best after that! No i hvnt forgotten last year but again irrelevant as it is now 2013. Im sure he will bounce back to his best form and i will be happy to eat my words !!

was suprised how close peel came? maybe swans took things a little easy.

what is going on with peels reserves again? swans 21 goals to peel 0. did any of you swans fellas see any of that game?

the commission should be held accountable for this shambles down there.
Not enough players ?? Id expect this in a small town country league, not in the states biggest comp outside the afl. Professionalism just isnt a concern at the wafc.

the 5 Peel inclusions were all good players and contributed 5 of their 10 goals and 91 possies between them so it all depends on what blokes are available with Peel and East Perth as West Perth found playing a Royals side without Lycett and Wilson from the week before..

heard on Saturday Paul Johnson is shopping himself around, Swans are confident they can get him but will believe it when i see it with that bloke..

agree with that Mark - I was very surprised with the level of angst shown by some supporters to the Swans players on the weekend. Conditions have been making games even regardless of the opposition for years, some of the abuse form spectators at qtr and 3qtr time was laughable.
Swans played not their best, peel played close to theirs and suited those conditions.

Johnson would be a massive recruit, he did play for the ducks when on West Coasts list didnt he..

We struggled to win a clearance on Sat and got killed at the contested ball and if it wasn't for the likes of Riggio the wind and to a lesser extent, Swoop and Notte we would have got done and if some of you blokes were satisfied with Saturdays effort then you will be satisfied if we finish 5th or 6th. Great thing is we are 3rd, have beaten Claremont convincingly this season which no other side has done, have beaten both West Perth, East Freo and Perth convincingly and have HEAPS of room for improvement. And as far as giving opinions and criticism, well as a member I have that right and never have resorted to abuse of our own. Doesn't mean you cant criticise strongly..its called passion

Remerkably Swandog the Sunday Times couldn't manage to fit Notte in our best 6 players.

I certainly wasn't happy with out performance on Saturday, particularly in the first half. We butchered the ball going into our forward line at least 6 times in the first quarter. That needs to be eliminated when we play the better teams. Personally I would like to see Bennell play a lot closer to his opponent when the opposition has the ball.

It is a question of whether the glass is half full of half empty. Our first half was not good; but we showed character by getting back into the match in the second half. In some respects our last matches against Claremont, West Perth and East Freo will stand us in good stead if we make the finals as we would probably have played some of our best footy to get there.

We should enjoy the week off and hopefully a large number of Swans' supporters will make the trek down to Mandurah the following Saturday.
