still doesnt mean you have to put them all up at once, as showed last week when you get the balance right in reserves and colts you get better results.
the reserves went close to the 2nd team and the colts knocked off East Perth..
and if we lose 3-4 in the draft we shoudl be using the money we get to replace those players with recruits and Ellard, Nev Jetta and possibly Banfield have indicated they are returning so its not all doom and gloom

You would think money from the draft will come in handy for club to use to keep working towards a better financial position. Ellard and Banfield would be highly unlikely to go to another WAFL club if they retunrned home so big money shouldnt have to be spent... But both would have to be good chances of staying on lists.

pretty sure Ellard has already been told and Banfield is contracted for next year but is not in the plans for Voss so is a chance of getting paid out..

It would appear that Malthouse does not like Swans' players. Ellard is out of the picture and obviously the relationship between Yarran and Malthouse is not what it should be.

Would you have started Yarran as the substitute and/or dropped him? If I was Garlett I would be getting a little worried with Malthouse's recent track record. With respect to Armfield he is getting his just rewards for his hard work.

not really fussed what Malthouse does at Carlton to be honest but to say he makes decisions based on a players WAFL club is ridiculous.

I hear ya Swan although I'm of the opinion that Malthouse doesn't like any players all that much until they prove themselves otherwise. They are all just pawns in his game that's all about Mick. I struggle to even watch teams he coaches, one coz it always seems to be on the far side boundary line (uncanny that) and secondly the game always is played around the bloody boundary lines. Boring chicken-shit footy. Yeah he's had a bit of success but so should of any coach who's had everything at their disposal like Collingwood & West Coast can provide. Never had a lot of time for Yarran as I always found him to be lazy although do respect that he's got some talent. Ellard on the other hand I feel has been harshly done by at times. Never seems to get a run at it and I for one would be bloody happy to see him running around for Swans again out of selfish interest really. Hope for his sake another AFL club gives him a go if his body is still up for it.

Okay for your peace of mind it was tongue in cheek. I would gladly have Ellard and Yaaran back at Basso any day. Ditto for the rest of the Swans' boys playing in the AFL.
