I thought you would have agreed with the responsibility of my last post Kaos? The days of returning home grown players asking for and receiving ridiculous amounts of money (which some of the players at swans are still on, in contrast to you saying it was a 2010 issue) should be over. Thats the only way forward financially. Still make good offers just not silly ones that take the problem through to yet another season.

Surprised you jumped on me Kaos after a fairly positive comment from my side, must be a lot of angst from you towards my previous comments regarding your mates (although you deny it)

So which current Swans' players are 'home grown players asking for and receiving ridiculous amounts of money'?

I see it must be for making wild and unsubstantiated comments. When is the time and place for 'specifics'?

Swan dont start this, nothing about my comments were wild and unsubstantiated - the way I described salaries from 2010 to present are quoted words form people at the club. Just know that, Kaos will say otherwise... I was merely stating that.. and great work has been done to reign this spending in and I am sure it will continue. My earlier post was merely highlighting we should not do it again for players who should they return home, probably owe it to swans to come back to the club.

Mac sorry for stirring all the time. My point is you can't blame the current football group led by Harding for player payments that were a carry over from 2010 and before. Bag them for poor performances that's fair enough. As said before I don't care if he coaches or not. Can you find out what happened with the two swans players that got reported at swan ath last week I have not been down so don't know.

Phew! Swans played their get out of jail card today. There was no relaxation for Swans fans until about the 31 minute mark of the last quarter. Our season was hanging on a thread for the whole game.

All Peel needed to beat us was a bit more self belief because they had the two dominant midfielders on the ground (Jones and Michie). They frustrated us all day with their tackling and smothering. I think Cam Sheppards plans were pretty spot on and it was just a few passages of play where guys like Riggio, Garlett and Geappan showed a bit of class under pressure that made the difference in the end.

Swans also played into Peels hands by persisting with the short handball game which was leading to fumbling and more pressure, whereas on the few occasions that Swans kicked the ball long and direct to a leading forward, they generally got a result. Why they go away from the formula that worked a few weeks back against Perth and Claremont just bewilders me.

The team as a whole was unrecognisable from the Swans of those two games and without doubt it was an attitude issue. There were times especially in the second quarter ( which was close to the worst quarter Swans have played this year IMO) when they just seemed to be sitting back and watching Peel take the ball.

To their credit Swans came out in the 3rd with a much better work ethic and kept Peel to three goals when they were kicking with a strong breeze. This set up a chance for Swans to run over the top of the opposition in the last quarter which they did, but not in a convincing manner. Two of our 5 last quarter goals were free kicks, so we were a bit lucky there.

I want to give Matt Rogers a bit of a wrap here. His goal in the 4th brought the crowd to life and in general his strength and skilful kicking was very important in the latter part of the game. Tony Notte took some good contested marks, Riggio's game was his best for weeks and Swooper picked up kicks all over the ground.

So we bank the 4 points and go back to 3rd spot. Now its a bye and we must back up against Peel where again we cannot afford any slip ups. This time guys, try and take your 'A' game to Mandurah?

Get rid of Ugle and Boeky both front running players who shine when things are going our way, Ugle especially, send him back to Bunbury as he just doesn't chase or doo the hard things plus goes to ground too often and get Burnham in the side he is having a crack and was one of our best v Ressies and has been for a while. Lobby was great today, geez I hope he doesn't get drafted..don't forget we had Simmo and Jetts missing today which would have made a huge difference. Hilda is getting past it I reckon, he cant hit a target now and looks cooked. Good to see Pratty getting back into it in Ressies the past few weeks maybe a league birth before the year is out?! A relief to get the 4 points and now a chance to cement 3rd and challenge for 2nd..but a massibe improvement from today is required and really today was no cause to sing the song afterwards
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

not too sure Lobb beating the likes of Westwood Swandog, makes him a draft candidate mate?......yeah perhaps if Lobb had beaten someone like Hannath......Peel must be cursing the big fella was an emergency for Freo.....he could of swung the game for Peel too......wonder if the return match between Peel and SD down in Mandurah will be just as eventful?

looks like your reserves side will have another day out in a fortnights time too.....can't believe Peel's seconds were that bad?.....or SD reserves were that good ;)

Seeing as tho Jones has had 70 possessions combined in the 2 games we have played Peel this year do you think we might actually have someone go near him in the return clash?

A couple of players who need to be recognised for their efforts not only on Saturday but throughout the season are Ryan Davis and Tony Notte. Surely they will finish in the top two in our fairest and best,

A win is a win and it will be interesting to see how we go in our match in a couple of weeks. Whilst I have great respect for Pratt and his commitment given the horrendous run he has had in the past few seasons I just don't think that he will have enough fitness to feature in our run home. Certainly if all the players showed his attitude we would not have any trouble in qualifying for the finals this season.

If we get another wet day down at Peel in two weeks I would like to see that we have come to grips with what wet weather footy is all about.
