Looks like Tony Abbott has not only broken ANOTHER election promise relating to the new subs not getting built in SA; it as though he told a blatant lie to one of his SA Senators to get his vote. What I would like to see is the posters who were so derogatory toward Julia Gillard about her allege lies come on here and give Tony Abbott an equal serve for his broken promises and lies.

Where is the indignation, disdain and contempt for him. Again a lot was made by posters on the "real Gillard" comment; what about Abbott's comment last Monday that "good Government" starts now?

yes 42...i have to admit TA has been very poor. I'm not a huge advocate of PM's living and dying by the polls like labor has been in recent times...i'm more about seeing a PM doing a good job rather than being popular but i've gotta admit TA is on borrowed time on both fronts. I too was appalled by the "good government starts now" line..wtf has he been doing for the last 16 months? i'm also not convinced we need to spend $5b on new submarines no matter where we get them from.

we need the new subs , no doubt about it. but if SA want to just ,make it a a work for a dole scheme for 800 people, then the state gov should start finding 115 Million in loans for each person employed, as thats ihow much each job will cost to have it done in south australia.

The bottom line is that the Libs promised prior to the last Federal election that the subs would be built in South Australia. Abbott broke that promise. Further Abbott broke another promise he made to the SA Senator, in order to get his vote in the leadership spill, when he promised that there would be an open tender.

That's not the bottom line, the bottom line comes when you rule off final account, btw there was never a guarantee the subs would be built in SA before the election, except by labor,,

Bazza the Defence Minister said unequivocally before the last election that there would be 12 subs built in SA. It is unquestionably another of the Abbott Government's BROKEN PROMISES.

The defence minister before the election was Labor wasnt he?

Even if they decide to go for Jap subs , there will still be fabrication and servicing here.

Sorry for the confusion Bazza. I was referring to the Defence Minister appointed by Abbott after the last Federal election. He made the Liberal Party election promise, prior to the last Federal election, that the 12 subs would be built in SA.

As for your comment about fabricating and servicing, that is not relevant to the election promise that the subs would be built in SA. Another broken promise by the Abbott Government.

Swan if I had a choice between someone lieing about wehere they being built and a Beasely's blue along the lines of the Collins Class Fiasco and the billions it ripped off the tax payer, I'd take the lie about the construction location.
