I think it may have been Trevor Williams who coached Peel during Marty's stint there.
Waterman may have been a bit earlier?

Where did Trevor Williams come from, and if the rumour is true Waterman was coach under Atkins at Peel so there is a fair connection there.

Not sure all of us on here are going to agree with whoever is appointed.

yep Murray,Leyendeckers,Johnson(full back came with Leyendeckers),Reimers.
There may be 1 or 2 other players i cant think of right now.

Theres 4 players from the wooden spoon club plus Trevor Williams.
Thats close to a love affair with his former club that he was FM at imo!

Yeah your right I don't reckon it matters who they appoint the club isn't going anywhere but that's my opinion I've stopped going to games since about round 5 due to other commitments and I can't say I've missed it.

A Subi supporter posted something the other day that was not flattering towards Waterman. Something about the way he addresses the players. Sounded to me like he lost the player group, saw the writing was on the wall and pulled the pin before the gun was fired.

As I have said before, if a clear outstanding candidate can not be found then we can do a lot worse than appoint Trevor Williams. I know that does not sound flattering but i have been very impressed with the way he addresses the players at the breaks. It is not a lot of throw away lines like McDud rattled off. I think he's a good teacher and speaks well and can get fired up but measured at the same time.

The other good thing (some might say a bad thing), is he's been at the club for a couple of years and knows the player group. Not saying he is the clear choice but with Harris and Harvey out of the market he becomes a realistic option if he was interested. I hope he is.

Another former coach I wouldn't mind is Todd Curley. Got a bit of aggro in him and did a reasonable job with WP, from memory I think 2 finals appearances in 3 years?

Williams has already come out and said Hes not interested,i think we have to leave it at that.
The same with Harris and Harvey.
No point now in going on about them, they all dont want the job.

Sadly our "reputation" probably has all the good ones thinking long and hard about what coaching us does to there long term reputations and coaching careers.

30plus, I reckon Williams said he would not be an applicant out of respect so the club can go all out to find the best coach in the market. If nothing materializes out of that then I think the club should seriously consider offering the job to Williams for 2 years. He may have found the passion for coaching again since taking over and if you think he hasn't got a very good reputation (wooden spoon at Peel), then he has nothing to lose. But he's not the only bloke to coach a wooden spoon at Peel and how have they gone since his departure?

Speaking to a few people Trevor Williams was involved with an u/16's academy with Jason McCartney some years ago when he was colts coach at Peel. You don't get invited to that sort of thing unless you are rated highly. I can tell you from what i have seen he is giving it everything, not just marking time until the end of the season.

Clearly you are a Williams fan...im not but in saying that i heard him say flat out that he's not interested.

Maybe at a successful club Williams would be a better fit but not here at Perth.
Maybe his calling is at the junior level and in the zones as a teacher and talent identifier.
