The footy manager must come under scrutiny recruiting has been terrible perth havnt had a key position player for years and all they seem to do is recruit midfeilders flankers and pocket players they need a spine starting with a ruckmen chf and chb some of the other players would play better footy used in the right positions and being footy manager i would of thought u would need to be a people person ive spoken with alot of current and recent ex players not one liked or had a good relationship with the footy manager
Perth needs change and defineatly a successful experienced coach to guide the club from the board to staff and players in a successful direction

Spot on King. For this club to survive it needs huge change all the way through from top to bottom with an emphasis on professionalism on and off the field and that means also respect, courtesy and understanding amongst everyone involved at all levels.
I am absolutely gobsmacked at some of the recent stories I have heard.

Maybe Marty should coach the team. He seems to think he has all the answers

Singha, I would rather have him as CEO with a free reign which appears he may finally have. I hope so.

Maybe the club is still behind the times in the dark ages the game has changed the professionalism at wafl level has changed and modern football people need to make football decisions not just doing what pleases the board or others around the club ive been involved with the perth district for nearly 20 years and the amount of local talent they wouldnt pick or try to get in a demons jumper was unbelieveable but it all always seemed like it wasnt how good of footballer you were but who u knew that got you a game

And they have recuited big points players off names not by positional needs the last few years reimers came with a bad rep (attitude) the mortons have been injured for the whole afl careers what was going to make it different at wafl level i think risol has probably been there best recruit since bevan

Not really news here but Basil Zemplas said this morning that discussions have been held with Mark Harvey and a caller rang through with a rumour that Gary Ayres has applied for..... wait for it, the SF job. Let's hope the PFC give him a call also. Would be two good gets for the WAFL.

King iv'e been saying it for years...we recruit good players but not the players needed for the positions we lack in,even this season i questioned "did we recruit 1 Morton too many" sacrificing a KPP,Ruck etc..Thankyou!!

Talking of KPP's i hope we are talking to Beau Maister(Wilkes).

DD i suggested Gary Ayres some time back and our club should be at least talking to him.
Hes played in Premieships and hes coached teams in GF's(AFL) and won premierships(VFL).

For mine with Harris not interested i hope Harvey gets the job.

30plus i believe beau has already commited to claremont and i think ayres would be a great coach or harvey aswell but if they dont have power to change the club and do it there way (everyone says marty doesnt have full power) a good strong coach and leader like ayres would up and leave asap in the cirrent situation i dont think he would last past rd 5
