I agree, I liked the look of Murray in the ruck.

My original thought was that Leyendekkers was probably going to be first picked, but I think Murray will lead the ruck backed up by Leyendekkers and Eyres. I like Murrays committment, he was asked to do some work and he has done it.

Risol looks ready made to me and I have also warmed to Johnston and think he may well play a role.

This will hopefully free up Billings & Kane so that they don't fight out of their weight.

All in all I think we have done reasonably well shoring up our stocks with what was available.

Personally i think it lacks experience and grunt and its where we will struggle...in the key positions.
A weak spine with a just an "ok" midfield spells a long year imo.
We might be ok in the ruck department.

Yes we have what appears to be on face value recruited players in areas we are defficient....but will they be good enough,thats the punt you take in recruiting "unknowns".
I have said it in previous posts imo we should have targetted at least 2 KPP's(1 at each end of the ground) with experience from a comp equivalent to the wafl.

The thing with the spine 30 plus is that there are a couple of players that can be put there. You could have Johston, Risol, Bateman, Tunbridge, McInnes or Billings, Johnston, Ali Smith, Risol, Colledge etc etc...

It does lack experience yes, but some of these players just might surprise us this season. That's the beautiful thing about this game is you never know who or what's around the corner. Not trying to sound like a Positive Panda but it's true. Ask any Adelaide supporter that wasn't biased this time last year and I don't think that they would have said "we'll make a prelim this year and go close to getting in a GF." Not saying that's Perth but just stating that anything is possible.

Adelaide already had a couple of power forwards in there team that were not rookies and also they had experience down back...totally different scenerio to Perth's.
Adelaide were never a bad team...they had turmoil in the coaches box,Craig's use by date was up...they changed coaches and the rest is history.

I agree DF. I had a few chats to Chris last year and you won't get a more Perth fc and footy passionate bloke. I have big respect for his hardness as a player. Imo he should be a part of the leadership group this year!

CEO mentioned last night that there had been 28 departures from the senior squad.

Didn't think there had been that many.

Lots graduating as well as recruits.

Hmmm. Now that is what I call a cleanout. 28 does sound a lot. I can't remember that many leaving in one year before but then I can't count further than 10.
No doubt there will be some conspiracy theories abounding tomorrow.
