Sorry for being cynical and sarcastic.

But it seems to me that what ever the good people at PFC do. It is wrong.

These are good hard working people that are just as frustrated as we are, and are at least trying to do something to end the misery.

They are lay people (not experts), who just love the Club and have worked for the Club voluntarily, in some cases for a long period of time.

FFS, give them a break and acknowledge at least they are trying!!

Their labours cost us nothing, we can at least acknowledge them.

Hodge in the center???? Hodge was put in there as he would tag the best midfielder from the opposition.

In my opinion if we play Bateman as a midfielder he will spend only half a game(in total) out on the field whereas if he played forward with just the odd run(when needed)in the midfield he could play 3/4 to a full game each week.
Its not like we have an abundance of elite players and a guy like Bateman we have to have out on the field for as long as possible.

I'd like to see Bateman used in a midfield role then resting up forward. Maybe 60-40.

I would be surprised if Matthew Moody had the tank and pace to play accross the centreline or in the midfield.
Half Forward/roaming forward for mine.

Coaches words not mine! "MATT mOODY IS THE FITTEST AND LEANEST I HAVE SEEN HIM IN HIS TIME AT PERTH.'

Tunbridge at CHF and Colledge at least tried in the Key centre half back postion.

Eyers at Full forward you have to be joking.

Leyendekkers will hopefully play there as he managed 13/14 games at Peel last season. Murray has a massive frame. If he to is able to play ruck or even key forward then ruck this will be a bonus. Eyres can't be in the ruck 100% of the time and if Leyendekkers and Murray happen to play there then where does Eyres play. As some people have said, Eyres is a competitor. He has a decent size about him and to me I think he would be wasted just sitting on the bench. Let him rest deep forward and at best when the ball goes down there you know he is going to fight like hell for it.

Full back is the interesting one...if this Johnston doesnt work out who plays there?????

That's a good question. We are all dealing in if's and but's atm. Will have to get down to the scrath matches to see I guess.

Johnno,
I know about the edit button when posting,i think you have an hour to edit your post then the edit button is disabled.

Agreed although i would have it the other way around,60 in the forward half and 40 in the midfield

He may be at his fittest but i still doubt he would have the tank and pace to go into the midfield

If those 3 are ruckmen then 1 will miss out,you cant have 3 rucks out there and waste a position by plonking 1 of them at full forward.

just on Johnno, i thought he struggled at full back at Swans in the reserves and played his best footy as CHB and as a relief ruckman, he's pretty mobile but not that strong in the one-on-ones that you sometimes need as a full back..when he played league at Swans he played well as CHB/2nd ruck, was disappointed he went to Peel as he can play so will be interesting to see how he goes at Perth..

30 plus I agree that probably not all of them will play. I suggested Eyres last year could be used as a KPP at either end of the ground. This is not to say that he now doesn't play in the ruck. You could work it at 80-20. At 193 cm and 97 kg's for his size he does a bloody good job competing against taller and more experienced players in the ruck department.

If Leyendekkers and Murray are able to stand up and perform majority of the ruck duties while alternating between the forward line and interchange and then you have Eyres to come in for 5 minutes here and there it could make for a pretty diverse ruck division.

As people have said before Eyres is a competitor! Why not stick him in the forward line or even down back?

Eyres has been training with the Rucks and other big boys in the preseason so I expect him to play mainly in the ruck, however it is always an option to play him somewhere else if others can step up and equally share the workload and contribute effectively on match days.

Matty Tedesco is not 186cm. Neither is Brad Fry or Julian Jacobs. I don't think the Bev is 184 either. I would be suprised if Billings is 190cm and there is absolutely no way Richardson in 187cm.

Not blaming you Mr AFL cause I know the budgets say these things but find them hard to beleive.

I reckon a lot of medium size players add a couple of cm's on to their hight in the hope that no body notices.

Would love to be proved wrong. Might stand next to a couple and let an independent arbitrator judge. I'm 185cm.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

They've made an attempt. Hopefully the players can step up. Murray looked good against the Dogs and Leyendekkers showed great promise last year. I hope he can continue to improve this year. Risol and Johnston both showed that they will be good solid players IMO from early viewings og their games/training sessions.
