It seems some are ok with inconsistent policies as long as it doesn’t affect their business, health or holiday plans.
Pity we can’t get enough doctors, nurses, teachers and other skilled workers due to our border policy changes.
And more money lost due to the latest changes but keep Perth cup going cos the govt owns the tab.
Good luck to those hiding under the bed in February when they find out McGowan can’t stop Covid

Yes commonsense Grump, not big brother with it's flawed and contradictory policies like you have to wear a mask when out in public places but it's ok to take it off when you are eating or drinking. It's a good thing the virus knows it can't get out or in when someone is eating or drinking. Lol.

Since I was straight in to get the vaccine as soon as I was eligible and same with the booster, I hardly fit into the stuff the rest of the community category.

I agree that the policies are all over the place.  Add to what you said, when you go out to the shops, there’s knobheads wandering around with their mask below their nose and some with the top lip showing and some that just won’t wear the mask at all. What happens to these Fukn idiots…..nothing.  So either have a REAL compulsory law or forget it.  Even though we are vaxed, I don’t want it and the wife simply cannot take a chance on the matter.  So I don’t have a problem with how McG is handling the situation.
Haha shark before you go whacking kents at the shops remember alot have exemptions from wearing them, be nice its Christmas

policies don’t affect my business….never had one and am now retired.  Doesn’t affect my holidays…I’m not leaving Aussie shores till this problem is reined in a bit.  As for my health, are you one of these knobheads that don’t worry about other people just so long as you get your way?  Certainly looks like it.  I think everyone knows that McG won’t stop Covid.  It will become rampant here as well.

Bizarre decision letting the Perth Cup go ahead, while cancelling every other big event.

Not really.
Ascot Racecourse is a massive area, and the Perth Cup would not get more than 3000 or 4000 on course these days.

So is this clown working diligently and proactively behind the scenes and that now includes the new minister for health to get us ready for the inevitable omicron outbreak? McClown told us quite smugly that by opening on Feb 5 it will allow his government to see how things pan out in the states that have opened their borders much earlier.

The learnings should be:
1. make sure we are stocked up with rapid antigen test kits so people can get tested in the comfort of their own home and get instant results and take the load off the testing clinics and reduce the risk of passing it on to others in the queues and health care workers
2. reduce quarantine times to a minimum so the country can function again and sport, hospitality and the entertainment industries can get going again.
3. make it as easy as possible for West Australians to return home with minimum isolation times ie until a negative test is returned.

The figures for Omicron are getting larger.28/12/21.
Nsw- 11,201
Qld- 1589
Sa-1471
Vic-3767
620 from across Australia in Hospital yesterday.
80 admitted to ICU.
Hardly seen a face mask at the boxing day test..So Vic numbers will be interesting in the next few days.
As for Wa the backpackers from that Perth shed party..28 people Have turned of there mobiles and can't be tracked. And could be walking the city or rural area spreading Delta.Catch them and send them on the first international flight out of Wa.

Gtr it is almost futile and in fact just raises unnecessary fear quoting new positive cases as Omicron is probably less severe than the flu. Those are incredibly low numbers in ICU I think and most of those would be unvaccinated and or with serious underlying health problems.
