Here is the link to Corbins comments on the morning show. Go to the 1 hour 24 minutes point on the broadcast. I was amazed to hear him say that Saturday at Bassendean was close to the highlight of his broadcasting career with the atmosphere and the passion of the supporters.

www.abc.net.au/radio/programitem/pe0E3ndVEL?play=true

Corbin also made some pretty strong comments about the WAFC in the afternoon show which I think Cardy and others have referred to in another post.

I wasnt amazed at his comments mate, Its the best scenes I have witnessed I reckon after any WAFL game that I have ever seen apart from 2010 GF
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Just in the context that he would have seen some pretty exciting sporting contests in his time at the ABC I thought it was a real feather in the cap for Swans and the fantastic atmosphere at the ground. The 2010 preliminary final was pretty special for the game and aftermath as well.

Yes I was young but over 18 in 1982 so that aftermath lasted over 24 hours for me and Monday was a bit of a blur

I was only 7 Mike but I remember it like it was yesterday and the celebrations around the streets of $ubiaco afterwards with flags flying and horns blaring :) ..where on earth would the WAFL be without passionate clubs like Swans & WP?

Yeh I add 83/84/90 to that as well ;) I suppose what I felt on Saturday was like an uprising from a sleeping giant amidst this AFL centric world

Dead right mate all of those GF's were fantastic and the vibe after the game on Saturday was spine tingling as you well know but 82 has stuck with me forever maybe because it was my first winning GF experience and our first since 63 plus the WAFL was the king of the town back then but it was HUGE.
Special mention must be made to the Prelim & GF in 2010 which were also amazing scenes & the 08 Prelim Final at Joondy when we came back from 8 goals down at one point and the chaos with the 2 sirens meant we got to celebrate twice! :cheer:

no doubt things were a tad quiet at the next prelim final SD played though BH....more so considering SD were playing at home in front of their beloved fans ;)......
