Since Swans Grand Final victory in 2010, Claremont have basically owned us, winning 11 of 15 games in that time. We are certainly due for a win!

So if Rudy didn't strike the WP player last week with that charged being dropped what does a charge of rough conduct suggest about the incident. He either did or didn't connect from what I saw? If the striking charge has been dropped then I can't comprehend what the umpire thinks he saw!!

DW who can comprehend what any umpire sees or doesn't see when they miss the most blatant push in the back I have ever seen in Broady's in the last qtr the one where he was shoved about 10m forward but inexplicably it was called play on

4 zip in grand finals. 1982, 1983, 1990 and 2010. I was there for 3 of them. I missed 1990 because I was in the USA at the time. In those days prior to the Internet it took me a week to find out the result. I finally tracked down a copy of the West in a public library in Washington DC and let out such a yelp when I saw the score, I was nearly thrown out of the place!
Fair to say that we were underdogs in all but one of those GFs (1982)
On another note great to see 720 ABC covering the WAFL game again this week rather than some AFL game on the eastern seaboard.

Haha that would have been a pleasant surprise to read Mike.
We have definitely been the underdogs in 3 and I reckon it was 50/50 in 82 with Claremont beating us at Basso in Round 20 that year before we got over the line in the 2nd Semi.
I have been lucky enough to see all 4 against the Tiges plus our 2 Colts flags against them in 07 &14 ..not sure it will be happening again this season tho.

I thought the clear mark they didn't pay to I think Doc at around the 10min mark of the last qtr around CHF which rebounded down the other end for the goal pretty quickly took the cake on the day BH. A few shockers both ways throughout the day. The Rudy incident truly has me baffled. If he didn't connect then no case to answer in my books

Come to think of it Claremont have been a powerhouse side in my whole time of following WAFL footy only the Kerr years they proved human after all.
I can't help but think if Swans or Perth had have had that sort of success how much better a position the WAFL would be in with Claremont really having such a small supporter base who show little enthusiasm (other than the bearded burbler) much like their fellow posh neighbours $ubiaco although at least the Tiges don't flout caps and they do play their own kids!

You are certainly not imagining it BH. Your post set me off on a stats mission and here is Claremont's record since 1980. In 35 years they have participated in 17 Grand finals for 8 flags. In that time they have topped the ladder 14 times and only missed the final series 10 times. A staggering record and a credit to their junior development system although as Swandog said they do have the advantage of private schools in their area. Their only flat spots have been the Kerr years as you said and a period in the late 90s where they missed finals 3 years running. Subis record since 2000 would be better but the Tigers are the best by far since the early 80s.

Hi guys. My website has ladders (win/loss records) for a range of periods via the Ladders link on the home page - although I don't have 1980-2015 I do have records for each decade, so you'll be able to see the records for everyteam.

You can access the page direct from this link waflfootyfacts.net/ladderperiods.php

Cheers
Ric
