Basic management books will tell you that if you want to implement a change in any organisation you need to bring all the stakeholders along with you. By going public so soon after the Grand Final he has ostracised one of his stakeholders (Subiaco Football club). Surely a better approach having finally recognised the problem that most of us have known for years would have been to consult privately with key decision makers in each club to come up with some sort of concensus if possible and then make a decision and go public when each club has had a chance to have a say. I'm sure an approach like this would have gone down a lot better with Subiaco who may now double down as a result of Taylors approach and actively resist any changes that will weaken their dominance. Just dumb management I reckon from someone who should know better.

And I would like to add, there is no mention of any of the other problems facing the Wafl squarely in the face, mentioned in the above article. quote"We have a really good competition"end quote. How so is that I would be asking? Why is the problem in the article only related to one topic? Why is no-one focusing on all the other issues that need addressing? Unbelievable!

A couple of questions for Subi supporters.

Who were the top end players in your salary cap that left at the end of 2017 to make room for Zac Clarke?

What money do you think Subi were paying Clarke in 2018 given he was at Fremantle in 2017?

There were equally ludicrous calls about Hawthorns strength a few decades ago. Some called for them giving a 5 goal start ?.

That’s not as silly as it sounds. If it was ok to make Pure Steel start off a 30 or 40 metre handicap and make Kingston Town lump around 60 kg in the Melbourne Cup then surely we can get creative here. How about make Subi players run around in Steel Blue boots?
Get on your bike.

Wayde Twomey, Scott Hancock, Corey Adamson, Declan Jackson, Liam Ryan, Liam Baker all walk up starts for our best 22 in 2017....what were they paying Clarke? who knows? but it worked for him whatever it was.

Sorry champ but the vast majority if not all would not have been in the top 10 money earners at Subiaco.

How do you know that? Do you have info on what they were paid? Collectively they would have accounted for a big chunk of the salary cap given they were all in the best 22 at the club.

Everyone’s a Subi expert BC, I’m in awe of the knowledge people have of the humble little club. Yet they can’t agree with people like John Townsend who state clearly that other clubs don’t come close to matching the training effort and intensity. Weird.

It’s not hard to work out when you look at the facts,

Baker hadn’t played a senior game prior to 2017
Ryan got to Subi 2016 played reserves and league
Hancock played 1 game in 2016 after coming from EF in 2015
Adamson was playing reserves at EP in 2015 & 2016
Jackson played reserves in 2014 2015 & 2017

These guys would have been in the lower paid bracket on the list. Twomey would have been on reasonable coin.

So bottom line from what you’ve thrown up given all those players would have been replaced with paid players is Twomey for Clarke. FMD Clarke was on more than the entire player cap the year before. Blind Freddy can see the numbers don’t add up.

What’s needed is more stringent policing of the total player payment cap.

Well for one mate who made John Townsend God - I don't agree with him a range of matters let alone this one.

How do you police a Club's salary cap when the Club is clearly and has done clearly used paper bags to pay their for years and years.
