yeah but it wasn't just a seats deal was it?
Somehow they were allowed to run a bar and profit solely from events of another competition to the exclusion of the other clubs

It was Subi's building, bar, clubrooms function room kitchen and licence all owned and operated by the club since the early 70's why wouldn't the club operate anytime it likes, it was open during the week for various functions and meetings, not Subi's decision to make Subi oval WANFL headquarters and where AFL games were played, we've always been there. Would be like other clubs wanting a share of SFFC turnover generated from your property and facilities and other moneys generated by the club like parking and the like off your freehold land. Has there ever been an event at Freo oval that SFFC has made some money from, a concert or the like just by being there?

You asked a question about certain agreements I mentioned in regard to Subiaco
The seats & Bar deal , in a situation where 30-50000 people hit the gates every weekend in a Licence scenario where there were multiple stakeholders 9/10ths of whom were precluded from sharing due to the sheer logistics & cost involved to do so
the big payout after all that cash over those years

Note: There wouldn't be too many local grounds that haven't been utilised for various events such as concerts , Amateur Footy games , carnivals - every few months
and as for the Parking , might be better to enquire with the FCC who oversee all Parking in the Fremantle district

The WAFC were responsible for giving $ubi that 7 figure compensation package to leave Subi Oval (playing and training only) whilst incredibly also allowing them to keep the bar out the back of the 2 Tier Stand and the seats deal.
Outside of the 22 or more afl games played there during a season that Subi benefited from the clowns at the WAFC also were the ones who organised the international rugby, international soccer games and nsl GFs, gaelic footy games, the many huge concerts, the monster truck shows etc every off season that Subi also gained huge financial benefit off of for 30 years or more.
The WAFC virtually have aided and abetted all of this Subi benefit fund and the success it has bought and continue to do so to this very day!

Bit harsh don't you think - I mean after all the good old fashioned grunt work Subiaco have put in. As has been acknowledged on here 'they train harder'. While all the other slack arse WAFL clubs have finished for the day there is Subiaco still training away with Capesy and Handy Randy cheering them on.

So is Gavin starting to sit up and take notice finally? Looking at the soft cap, salary cap and points system and says “we can’t wait another 4 or 5 years for other clubs to catch up to Subi”. Get to work Gavin and implement change that will have immediate effect.

Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

“we can’t wait another 4 or 5 years for other clubs to catch up to Subi”...that's a very odd comment to come from the CEO...it implies that we can't wait for everyone else to catch up so we'll drag Subi down to an acceptable level. no wonder Capes et al gets fired up.

I assume this guy is on megabucks to run the WAFC,maybe not but by his approach to this he has failed Management 101. Basic management books will tell you that if you want to implement a change in any organisation you need to bring all the stakeholders along with you. By going public so soon after the Grand Final he has ostracised one of his stakeholders (Subiaco Football club). Surely a better approach having finally recognised the problem that most of us have known for years would have been to consult privately with key decision makers in each club to come up with some sort of concensus if possible and then make a decision and go public when each club has had a chance to have a say. I'm sure an approach like this would have gone down a lot better with Subiaco who may now double down as a result of Taylors approach and actively resist any changes that will weaken their dominance. Just dumb management I reckon from someone who should know better.

There were equally ludicrous calls about Hawthorns strength a few decades ago. Some called for them giving a 5 goal start ?.

The WAFC cant even police the salary cup properly, and they plan on introducing a soft cap on how much Subiaco spends on strength and conditioning. What a joke. They will do nothing as usual.
