About bloody time. Byford is a good pick up. Big young growth area rapidly growing, Southern River is underdeveloped but might be the next Canningvale. One to watch. Muchea and Bindoon. Fk me how did they come up with that one? We jump over Swans zones and take the outer reaches of their zone. Why don’t we get Lesmurdie and Forrestfield instead? Good luck getting to training boys.

No change to country zones or that’s still under review?
muchea and bindon are not really metro.it is on the way to moora which is in perth zone and west of toodyay which again is perth zone so it isn't really a strange change.
I wouldn’t class them as country either, they are on the outer reaches of the north eastern metro area. Muchea just north of Bullsbrook then Bindoon the next one further north amongst Chittering. I’d class them as rural areas on the outskirts of Perth. Lightly populated. A token gesture by the WAFC.

I cant believe this. Why penalise SD? - they are hardly a WAFL Powerhouse - 1 premiership and 1 other GF appearance in 30 years!
I have three kids at Caversham and live within 2 kms to Steel Blue. The only reason we played at Caversham originally is the relationship they had with the old La Salle JFC.  Basso JFC & old Beechboro JFC were a bunch of ferals so we werent going there.
They wont be at Caversham next year under East Perth rule.
In fact most of our team travels from well East of Caversham to train and play. We have kids from Helena Valley, Parkerville, Mundaring, Belmont, Darlington, Stratton, Swan View, Ashfield and lots in Basso etc
Like us they went to Caversham when they played and had Auskick at La Salle and have stayed at Cavy after the move due to the quality of coaches, pres and people. This will put a bomb through the club I reckon which is a shame
You do realise its where you live not the club? People travel from all over to play at certain junior clubs. Just because they play at Cavo doesn't mean they are zoned to EP. It is your living address. If you don't like EP then move house not move clubs.

If you think EP or Swans for that matter have a say on the running of a junior club you are sadly mistaken. They don't.

Total Teams , East Perth 52 teams.
Perth 50 teams.
Swans 78 teams.

Maybe Perth FC needs to invite some WA football commissioners to luncheons and be a guest speaker like other clubs do and seem to get the rub of the green to protect their own interests.

Naagh DD, a few luncheons....perhaps only one, with Trev et al should put this zone inequality talk to bed......align with WCE and PFC and their fans won't need worrying their frazzled heads about recruits, depth, development.....and more importantly zones.....you guys aren't going to get the golden zones you desire......too many clubs are too well immersed and entrenched in their current zones.......think SF are only happy giving a few because they will get well established growth suburbs in return....zones that were originally theirs back in the day.

This might be of interest to you Freeze.
In the age group 9-12 East Perth will pick up 12 new teams next year.8 from Caversham and 4 from Innaloo Bulldogs.
So in 2023 the numbers will be years 3,4,5,6
Swans 70
East Perth 66
Perth 50
Perth pick up new growth zones. But no existing Junior Football Clubs, like EP have.

Freezin, the fact that clubs are "immersed and entrenched" in their zones shouldn't matter. It's not a voluntary process. The fact that Caversham has been given to EP means that even being close geographically doesn't matter any more. So you are saying that Perth's choice is just to resign ourselves to perennially missing finals as a result of poor zones or compromise our identity and invite the scorn of other clubs by aligning?

I'm interested in what clubs are "entrenched" in their zones and what do people mean by entrenched?

I assume it means that some clubs are lucky enough to have zones which provide them with an endless supply of quality players, and those clubs then convince themselves that they work those zones in a way that no other club would be capable of.

East Perth already have ellenbrook.I've been told that East Perth's colt may train at whiteman park in the future. With the poor relationship with the city of vincent whiteman park is mentioned as  a site we may move in the future. If Subi get gnangara that also is a long way from leederville.
