Whatever, this debate is going around in circles. Since nobody but SS wants to talk about the actual game, lets move on to next week

not a smart decision to play it there , Fremantle or Leederville are far more central to most people , offer far better post and pre game entertainment options and atmosphere. Most people don't want to drive to arse end of Midland , use excretia covered toilets and put up with aggro bogan drunks for a day out.

People voted with their feet and stayed away in droves.

well said Bazza...I'm not sure of the rationale for playing at Bogandean but surely somewhere more central would have made better sense. notwithstanding the anti-social behaviour inside and outside the ground, less than ideal facilities for families and general state of the place, its a fair old haul to get there if you live south of the river.

You do have to laugh at the mindless comments from some on here.
The crowd figure on Saturday at Bassendean of 2500+ vs a struggling footy state in Tas was bigger than the 1900 SA & 2200 Vic at the last 2 state fixtures held at Leederville against state football powerhouses SA & Vic respectively!

So where are all these "Foundation day derby" fans on every other "normal" Saturday round of WAFL fixtures?
Not at the footy!

.....and the difference with Fremantle is what????

The rationale is that all clubs get a chance to host a state game and get some benefit from food and bar takings at their home ground, so far I think we've had Leederville, Lathlain & Basso, so I assume the next home state game will be at either of the Freo clubs, not sure that Joondy or Rushton will get state games as they have recently hosted pre-season AFL games which draw much bigger crowds.

Yep true, WA v Vic at Freo would be great. Visiting Vic fans would feel at home in the café strip drinking good coffee and eating pasta.

they are there mate, but the derby drags in more- when is Perth's big day of the year? Do you have one? or are the attendances just bad every round?

Come on mate what could be more enjoyable in the middle of a cold wet winter than sitting on damp concrete slabs that's if you are lucky enough to find one that isn't damaged or cracked or the other option at the same venue of making your way through a public car park if you don't get run over by a 80yo Slav trying to reverse his 1962 fiat before hand just to sit in a grandstand that is probably closer to Rottnest than the actual playing arena!!
