Freezin wrote: Too true TOSG.....Basso oval is a fantastic place to watch n play footy.....by far the best in the WAFL.....just disappointing to hear your comments regarding some of the specifics which may of genuinely been an over sight....Lathlain and Steel Blue will no doubt be the home for state games in WA due to their size and facilities compared to other existing WAFL grounds....hopefully your constructive critique will be taken on board.

I think a country venue like we had at Northam a few years back would be good. Play it at Forrest oval in York, brand new facilities and unlike Basso we are able to host night games.

Fancy a $ubi supporter having a crack at another clubs ground considering their own pigswill of a ground was deemed unfit for football only a week ago!!

there's a big difference between the surrounds of a ground looking like a New Delhi rubbish tip and the playing surface being deemed unacceptable by a bunch of fairies worried they'd break a nail...even more so when you consider leederville is shared by 2 WAFL clubs. the vision last Saturday on channel 7 of the outer at bogandean was cringeworthy and there's no way around that. it appears your club caters for beer swilling drunken bums but not families with young children

Have you ever even attended a game at Bassendean before BC? ...or is it just too far to travel that 10km across town from your leafy comfort zone where the other like your good self 65yo+ white collar silver types reside and it wouldnt be a good look for the social status to be seen out in those dreaded working class Eastern suburbs attending a lowly WAFL game with the 'riff raff' of society ..I mean what would your neighbours think and all that hey BC!

I agree that the toilets at Bassendean are in poor condition and need some work. However, I cannot understand the comments about the non family friendly atmosphere at the ground. I made a point of watching the game from different vantage points during the day and all I could see was kids enjoying themselves. The sight of all the boys and girls kicking footys on the oval at half time was great to see. I didn't see anybody in the members area who appeared to be drunk. I didn't stay for the womens game so I can't comment on that. I think its a pretty harsh assessment to portray Bassendean as some type of combat zone.

Mike the outer toilets at EVERY WAFL ground are not great including those at Leederville but do they fall under the discretion of the clubs or the council?
I think the little bitch session is just a disgruntled $ubi fan looking to take the heat off his own mobs utterly embarrassing ground relocation from only a week ago!
Pretty pathetic and puerile TBH but no great surprise when reading where it has originated from!

PN perhaps BC supports Subi and follows Freo?......I get pissed off way more when EF lose compared when say teams I follow such as WBD, West Adelaide, West Ham, Dodgers and Wildcats lose......sounds like BC attends more Subi games than Freo games..and is a passionate Subi / WAFL fan...success generated maybe but seems to me he like many of us old enough had their WAFL club and a side line VFL club.......before the AFL existed who did you keep an eye on in the VFL?.......surely after Perth's lean run since 78 your attention hasnt wandered slightly else where?.....Perth will always have your heart but surely other non WAFL clubs will be of interest to you come match day in terms of success?.....call it a soft spot per se?

Good to see TOSG provide pro's and con's to his argument though.....mikeh what kids activities did you see that TOSG might of missed?....kids kicking footys at half time is something that happens at every club......just thought with it being the only WAFL game on display, a proactive forward thinking club like SDFC would of pulled out all stops getting families to the footy....kids of today are the WAFL's future spectators I guess

What happened with the playing surface is their Fault, but the Timing of Peel and the Dockers with their Antics was Apalling.

What Antiics wheres the link or the quotes ,back your accusations up with proof please., just cos you say something doesn't make it true because you have a bias towards the WAFL.

How am I disgruntled when we are 2nd on the ladder and topping the attendances? Nothing embarrassing about the shifted game last week, just highlighted the alignment farce.

.

Everything you say is true Freezin, but do you use derogatory names to describe the AFL team you follow, so that everyone on Ozfooty knows you're a WAFL fan first .

Refresh my memory as to why the Colts played?

Surface good enough for Peel to pinch a Win,before all the Fun and Games started?

What about their Safety?

Ahh so you don't have any proof you just made it up, I remember having the same discussion on another topic you couldn't show any proof then either, carry on with you're conspiracy's them.

I guess when that AFL team you follow is directly responsible for the slow death of a comp and eventually the club you have/ family have supported as a kid, perhaps your endearment is only so deep.......sort of like the better half and in law scenario I guess.....you know what I mean?
