I don't know how anyone can come up with 400. There was nobody counting anyone entering. I would say much closer to 1000. There would have been 100 in the bar at half time, so it's not possible only 300 were in the stands. Not that I give a crap. The whole thing was crazy. The game was a very high standard thankfully despite the umpiring.

yeah the captains bar was pretty full at halftime so I had a dartboard guess of 900 but we'll never know and much less care now, time I/we moved on from worrying about a bunch of second rate hacks and their reserves team.

So much concern about crowds, seems to me the only supporters with concerns about this issue are the ones on this site. Grassy rings up Bob and gets fobbed off, no one rings up to back him up, this is the only where place I hear any complaints about crowd sizes, sounds like no one reaaly gives a **** besides a few supporters on here.

I'm just asking the question is there any concern anywhere else outside of here, because I'm not seeing it or hearing it.

Unfortunately peter interest has wained since the alignments but I reckon rivalries are what's keeping the WAFL alive. Attendance would have been 1500 more than the 2400 odd at Basso on Monday but I still comend all those loyal Perth and Swans supporters who braved the cold and rain.

And no doubt that other elephant in the room has had a fair bit to do with it .

That's one of the guesses, nothing official released yet.

Here is an indication of how much of a shit the WAFC cares about the WAFL. I rocked up about 15 min after the game started and they were sold out of budgets. Then couldn't use the WAFL site to check opposition players numbers or check on other Derby scores because the WAFL site was down all through the league game. They must be still using an old DODO dial up plan. FMD

Swans and Perth havent occupied a top 4 possie together since 74, if we ever fo again yesterday would have pulled 6-8k as we have loyal fans who stick through good and bad
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

The bottom line is basically nobody cares, the WAFL WAFC and indeed the clubs themselves have given up a long time ago on crowd numbers.

Fact is the crowds have been so low now for so long that they make up a tiny part of the clubs revenues, clubs stopped being reliant on gate takings ages ago, the main source of income are returns from the WAFC, the reason the clubs are saying nothing about the drop in crowds is because they have already been well compensated for the drop in gate with the additional alignment compensation cash, which is exactly what it was designed for, they are no doubt getting more from the compensation handout than what they are losing.

With the exception of a few feature days which one or two clubs focus on , attendances are no longer a priority.

I believe it is the only time -- you would not want to hold your WAFL football breathe waitting for it to happen again.

Yep they have, take out the Junior Day kids and mum and dads Monday and you would have about 1200 there, extremely poor.

And I clearly remember whenever we played Perth in the WANFL heyday from late 70s to early 80s, whenever we played Perth it was consistently the smallest crowd of the year only with the exception on Subi, which was the lowest.
