re: I've gone blank,but another CEO pulled the pin a few years back.

Yes that's correct.
One of the longest serving football administrators, apparently.
Quit in disgust and said to have boycotted that year's WAFL grand final in protest at the negative impact of the alignment system.
Fairly certain it was Atkinson.
Damn shame to lose him from there.

If the current so called commission don't realise or cannot see the minefield they've taken us into, they need removing.
Then the question arises is the sports minister interested in acting along those lines or does big business have her wrapped round their little finger?

Not sure what to make of the figures? Apparently 682 for the Showgrounds. And Subiaco's Home ground for the big match attracted 1050.

Total of 3,347 for the 4 games, an average of 811 per game. Surely close to the lowest average crowd ever in the WAFL apart from the war years maybe. Its all very well to say TV and Social media interest is up, but if there are no people and atmosphere at games, this interest will eventually be lost.

obviously don't get to games living in NZ....but wasn't the weather more than shite on the weekend for Perth?....I know the crowds are dwindling anyway, but from memory most WAFL grounds are pretty open for non members to the elements, don't blame folk for not wanting to get soaked.....especially with kids in tow....perhaps clubs need to provide better protection from the elements.....don't forget folk these days are used to their home comforts more so than folks in the 70' and 80's.....

The total is very, very poor indeed. That makes it the lowest attended week 10 fixture for over 10 years. From memory, the week 4 fixturing also had the lowest attendance figures anyone can remember.
Just wondering how a few mouse clicks is going to generate better attendances at the grounds and bring back some atmosphere? That is something else Hargrave 'forgot' to mention.

Well said Freezin.
But then I wonder, had a big rugby match or big soccer game been played would such low crowd numbers have been recorded? Would more than 800 to a thousand have gone? Or would they had received 10 to 20 thousand turn up?
I'm hopeful now that Fremantle Oval is being redeveloped soon, that the planners get it right. I'd like to see the outer (with comfortable seating) be undercover too. Still retain some outdoor areas for the hardy peoples. One can live in hope not many mistakes will be made with 20 million dollars.

WAG and Freezin I understand what you are saying and the weather was pretty poor on Saturday but if the WAFC were to use that as an excuse for the attendances then they are even more delusional than even I thought they were.

969 at Basso - I must have miscounted the number of players, officials and umpires. As for the two devils incarnate's reserves teams 546 WHAT AN ABSOLUTE INDICTMENT on the following:

(i) WAFC Commission;
(ii) West Coast Eagles' supporters, members and club;
(iii) Fremantle Dockers' supporters, members and club.
