Although the 2016 qualifying round attendance figures are very disappointing at the half way mark of the season, there’s some interesting reading.
Currently, West Perth has attracted just under 12,700 patrons over to the Arena.
The two Fremantle teams have achieved good crowds with South Fremantle Home games producing just over 11,900. East Fremantle Oval has seen 11,300 people through the turnstiles so far. Swan Districts have completed 6 Home games at Bassendean for 9,047. Just a tick over 8,700 have witnessed Perth’s matches at Lathlain.
Subiaco Home games have a figure of just over 8,100. Claremont have seen four matches played at the Showgrounds with a figure of just over 4½ thousand. The three neutral matches and Claremont’s one Home game played at Bassendean have attracted 5,562.
Last seasons qualifying round crowd figures were bad, and currently we are a long way behind that at the corresponding time. Really need a large surge of people to start attending in the second half of the season or the game day attendance figures will stay well behind Twenty 15’s total. And last season’s total attendances is nothing to become excited about either!

Subiaco's 5 home games tally up to 10,067

Thanks WAG, mate I have noticed we have had quite bad weather fairly early this year and its just about all happened on weekends, I reckon that has impacted. But there is a general decline in interest across the board as far as actually going to games go, on a positive more than double the people are watching TV games than when the ABC covered the games, this is great news for club sponsors who want exposure and at the end of the day is the primary purpose of commercial marketing.
Good sponsorships deals will always make up for drops in the gate.

As far as SFFC are going our crowds are not to bad all thing considered, unfortunately bad weather impacted on Foundation Day, I think we lost 2000 - 3000 that day, nevertheless we easily had the biggest crowd of the round.

We still have one more Derby to go which should be a cracker with EF going well, so should see a decent crowd.

And after Fremantle Oval is redeveloped, crowd numbers should increase one would hope. Much in the same vein as Claremont Oval with the works going on across there.
Both grounds being close to shopping areas, eateries, public transport and etcetera.

And that sounds right outer.
Had placed Subiaco's last Home game under the neutral section, not Leederville.

Yep, plus it will be a cotenant arrangement which means both sets of members will be present at all derbies so bound to improve numbers.

I reckon the new Freo or Clarenmont would be great venues for state games.

Wishful thinking WAG the only thing that can help save dwindling WAFL crowds and interest is having a strong Swan Districts & Perth with their big parochial supporter bases.
Someone laughingly posted on here some time back that when the Fremantle teams were strong the WAFL is strong  well we have both sides flying this year and the crowds are around 20% down on last years low figures and are headed for all time lows and it's no surprise when factoring in Perth & Swans are 2nd last & last on the ladder!

He also said just 2 weeks ago that the one thing the WAFL needs is Swans, Perth and East Perth to be strong!

East Perth dont even exist anymore, Perth are a basket case and have been for decades and who never had a big fan base even when wafl mattered to the whole state, and Swans cant beat an egg. So that is a wish list along with second coming and with about the same time lines.
