Does someone want to give Maumill and Hagdorn an ear bashing about this?

You will be lucky if Hackdorn will give you 30 seconds to spell out the facts

Bassendean?
The McDonald and Walker Stands are a good start. The Shed at the Bassendean End is good cover from any Westerly.

Leederville? How many are allowed in the Grandstand? The Roper Stand or Subi stand, depending on the Fixture. The Bars?Subi Yes,East Perth? The Belcrest Shed at the Technical School End(salute to Frank Sparrow).

Rushton Park? The new stand at the back though,on a day like yesterday.Inside the Public Bar.The Dower stand holds a small few,but get in quick. Finally, the small space available under the Outer building.

That's this week's venues done,.......

Grassy, sitting in that grandstand at Leederville on a day like yesterday would have been contemplated only by those with suicidal tendencies. When the wind is blowing the worst positioned stand in the state, yes even worse than that Freo Oval stand that you can watch the road traffic from. I'd rather go hibernate with the polar bears than endure another match from the Leedy stand on a cold wet blustery day. Was 2 years ago and still one of my balls hasn't reappeared

The best place to be on a day like yesterday anywhere in the comp was Bassendean oval due to the direction of the ground, the only WAFL ground East - West, Subi oval is the other of course

-there has been a few extra WAFL channel you tube views, a couple of extra WAFL facebook likes, maybe 1 extra WAFL tweet all is grand in WAFL land...
-the fact that crowds are down 20% on last years very low base alone and we havent even reached the half way mark of the season should be raising alarm bells but not to the good commissioners ,
-3 clubs are virtually out of commission already,
-umpiring standards continue to plummet to new low depths never perceived possible and yet the same bloke that has overseen the dramatic standards drop for 15 years or more is still in the role
-the continued dominance of $ubi due to a financial arrangement not afforded other clubs even though their tax paying supporters helped build the joint at $ubi Oval
-& last but certainly not least the alignments continue to disgruntle the WAFL heartland supporters who are forced to watch young players their club developed play against them

Although I have tried to stay positive on the WAFL comp in the past this year has left me thinking the comp may not be around for too much longer and that hurts me to say as a WAFL diehard since I was knee high to a grass hopper but having witnessed some of the smallest crowds in history in 2016 says it all and those in the current management roles at WAFL HQ will have blood on their hands for allowing this former great 131 year old comp sink to lows never ever thought possible!

And I will add I have already lost 1 WA football competition that the WAFC did SFA in trying to save that was close to my heart as an ex player & fan in the Sunday Football League if it were to happen to my WAFL as well which is heading down the same path that would be it for me as I will be walking away from the game for good!

How these bozos at WAFC HQ did absolutely nothing to build on the momentum after the 2010 WAFL Grand Final beggars belief where there was unprecedented interest in the WAFL not seen since the pre Eagles days with all variants of the media where it was the lead off story over the next 24 hours, live interviews from Basso with Kraks etc and was the talk of the town for months afterwards ...and the WAFC did zilch to build on that and now we have what we all witnessed this season record low crowds and interest!

Mate absolutely spot on there! The comp was rising again post previous alignment era, and they found a way to F##k it with more alignments and not addressing the other issues you mentioned

Very well said BH.
I've just picked myself up off the floor after reading Hargraves comments. It's ok because some of the disbelieved anger has subsided.
If that is not proof of how immature this so called commission is, not sure what would be?????

As sad as it to say this Grassy- Don't worry about those 2 little boys at mentioned radio station. Their interest in the Wafl (or lack there of) is part of the problem. Obviously many improvements could be made there also.

That bad eh,DW?

Swandog, almost dragged me self out of the Cot to still go to Bassendean yesterday, but given my red headed Swans Nate wasn't going,I turned sides and nodded off again.I was that buggered.

Yes Grassy, I lost a ball somewhere in that grandstand 2 seasons back and that was within half a game of footy...insult to injury was that my $15 went straight to the ferals

Reading many comments here regarding the contempt for our comp of the WAFC. Reality is since the G7 clubs refused entry for stand alone teams for the WA based AFL clubs they have had only one mission and that is to completely ruin the historical foundations of the WAFL competition, bring it to its knees and wait for the mercy plea from the WAFL clubs all for the sake of these 2 benefactors. It is nothing short of a disgrace and anyone associated with the WAFC during this time should be ashamed of their actions although with their heads so far stuck up the rectums of the AFL system they I am sure are blissfully unaware of the damage they have done to our state's historical and premier football competition. Anyone who disagrees with this comment please show me some evidence to the contrary of what the WAFC has in mind and has put in place for the future of the WAFL competition in order to ensure its survival. Simply put, they don't have a plan that doesn't involve the 2 WA placed AFL clubs calling the shots and within that lies the fact that our state's football system will be controlled by a Victorian organisation. Now tell me, why should we care about that???

Dennis was one of the biggest supporters of WA entering the expanded VFL Competition. He understood the value of TV revenue for the game as he had studied American Sports closely.
25 years on Dennis or anyone else could not of known how the AFL was going to cannabalize all other Aussie rules competitions. The right man at the right time for the Wafl competition because when Dennis speaks people listen. As West Perth coach 1982-84 Swans and West Perth had an amazing rivalry. They where fantastic games of footy in front of big crowds.
