I Decree ALL Retail Shops close at 12PM Saturday's and ALL Day Sundays. :silly:

Both grounds being close to shopping areas, eateries, public transport and etcetera.

Wishful thinking WAG the only thing that can help save dwindling WAFL crowds and interest is having a strong Swan Districts & Perth with their big parochial supporter bases.
Someone laughingly posted on here some time back that when the Fremantle teams were strong the WAFL is strong  well we have both sides flying this year and the crowds are around 20% down on last years low figures and are headed for all time lows and it's no surprise when factoring in Perth & Swans are 2nd last & last on the ladder!

Yeah right , you obviously havent checked Perths attendance records, if they didnt have any big numbers back then , they sure wont have many now.

And Sdfc have deserted the wafl in droves this year, take Subi and the Freo clubs out and there arent many left.

if sdfc are so great crowd wise, how come attendances peaked in 2009 and dropped in 2010 when your mob won the gf?

Thank god for freo derbies its the last thing the wafl has left.

The biggest load of bollocks of all time is that post on here not long back "when Fremantle sides are strong the WAFL is strong"   as proven by the dwindling crowds this year heading for an all time record low attendance for a season.
The WAFL needs a strong Swans & Perth urgently otherwise it could extinct in a few years judging by this years abysmal crowd numbers!

We haven't much onfield success since '79,but if you have access to our current finances that prove we are a financial Basketcase, could you share them with us please? ;)

I checked out the 77 season , your crowds weren't that great even then.

And the 70 GF attendance was ordinary , yet when we played WP , EF we along with them BROKE and SET NEW records.

That means increasing that so calked TV Exposure into Bums on Seats and hearing far more clucks on the turnstiles.

What makes you think attendance is all that is required to make the game strong, its all about financial security and staying afloat that counts, and the clubs are more secure than ever with the alignment cash coming in.

And if double the people are watching the broadcasts , then people are still watching , just in the comfort of home and the CLUB SPONSORS get the benefit.

If your supporters don't follow your club and attend games when you're down the bottom of the ladder, they're not real supporters. SDFC supporters are not real WAFL supporters, they are an embarrassment.

Being the oldest member of this forum I suspect, I have followed the WAFL through many cycles. East Perth had the best following through the years in my opinion. Nowadays it's dropped to about one hundred diehards, very sad for me to see. The Bulldogs and WP always seemed to have good numbers through the years too.

I don't know if you are aware that the 70 GF was a wet day and therefore the attendance would have been affected.

Very true Cess also in 1980 it wasnt a great day weather wise and the crowd figure was enormous considering the 2 tier stand was under construction at the time thereby reducing the amount of tickets/seats available by a considerable amount that should be acknowledged.
