If the commission had more active Wafl people that actually stood up for the Wafl competition, it would send a positive message. Would it not? Instead of the current negativity! Footy fans would see the positive vibes. That would be one way to start attracting people back to the footy.
If the current low crowd numbers continue, makes me feel cold thinking about crowd numbers next season! Wouldn't be worth the teams running onto the ground would it?

A cynical man WAG could look at the current lot on the commission and consider would it be fair to say that one might be there just to make sure the baby he was responsible for forcing upon us 20 years ago isn't given the boot?, another could be there to just to make sure his club isn't scrutinised too closely?, whilst another could be there to make sure his club stays aligned to make them still relevant?..... All just speculative of course

7,216 is the given attendance for the last 4 fixtures. Showgrounds showed the most attended match of just a tick over 1,950. Which are better figures than from the corresponding matches of last season.

Unfortunately I am guilty of only attending 2 games so far this year, the first game against South's and the game against Swans couple of weeks back..

For me the host club scam has put me off and the domination of $ubi going unchecked, it seams nobody gives a chit about it, the WAFL is run by YES men to the AFL teams and this comp is simply unfair as it stands.

I do however keep an eye on all the scores via my WAFL app, but for a guy that would only miss 2 games a year tops normally,i find it hard to get motivated now and would rather tinker around home and watch AFL on FOX.

Claremont V Subiaco 1953 highest attendance of the round once again to Subiaco, Showgrounds and playing Claremont is clearly no excuse for poor attendance.

EP V SD 1930 Good attendance for an alignment club and wooden spooners

SF V PT 1811

EF V P 1522

Well done to Claremont on their charity day, shows that if clubs put the effort into promoting their matches, the crowds will come.

Unfortunately appointments to the "commission" are run past the 2 AFL no-hopers - in addition to this there are so many criteria to fulfil that it pretty much excludes any person with true WANFL interests at heart from meeting them

The CEO position has been filled by AFL fire ants for years - living proof of just how too much AFL influence there is in our comp

That really made my Sunday.

It's bad enough watching the Blue Rinse set at Subi, turn on their cheesy grins,en masse.

Don't worry Grassman there is more chance of both Freo teams merging once they start sharing Frem oval, it makes perfect sense and should have happened 15 years ago as the derby rivalry is dead and buried apart from a few old men at the game. The Perth Deby rivalry was far bigger the past decade or so up until East Perth ceased to be a WAFL club 3 years ago, The Shockers would be staying at Freo too then and have their ressies at the one ground. Also Peel would then develop into a team of their own taking South Fremantles zones

Swandog can you show me where both Fremantle clubs have agreed to this?

You've certainly done better than I.
Last Wafl game for me being in the first half of 2013. And haven't been across to the metro area for ages either.
Also have lost a lot of interest in the Wafl for the same reasons. I will never, never associate with a Wafl club again. The way it's going, cannot see a fix for it either, unless something drastic happens!

Another great initiative by the Subiaco Football club, this rounds home game is "bring a mate for free"
Members can get a mate in for free, details on the clubs website.

That's great news outer.
If the 7 Wafl clubs have more initiative days like it, can only be beneficial.
Would also need to be advertised as well. Unfortunate to say but the Wafl receives very little in the way of main stream media advertising or even reported on(specially electronically).
For instance, there was NO (not one) mention of Claremont's pink day on the main stream tv or radio sports reports. I suppose it will be the same with Subiaco's big day this week?

Interesting the ch7 WAFL broadcast had 46000 viewers compared to the SANFL 12000. What does that say, WA supporters can't be bothered going to the games?
