I did read Mr Howard Dawson and Mr Paul Douglas proposal that was presented to WAFC. After reading it carefully I agree to 90% of the proposal. I am a die hard WAFL man but I can see if something isn't done in the next three to four years there will not be the WAFL as we know it.

I have been saying this for ages, and its now encouraging to see so many on here now also calling for the sale of the two AFL licences back to the AFL, this should now be an aboslutle priority, for a number of reasons, but mainly as I firmly believe there values have probably just about peaked at the moment, with declining attendances and ratings all over the AFL, debt mounting at the WAFC, more and more AFL clubs in financial problems, in future years neither these frnachises are going to be worth as much.

On curent values they should yield $40 Million for the WAFL, invest the money in a capital fund, that ensures the financial future of the comp, then go on a radical restructure to ensure its long term viability totally free of the AFL.

Bazza and others would this mean that WERT and Peel would have an even greater advantage with their processes being even more part of the 'AFL' and thus skewing the competition even more!

You do know that they won't send a cheque for the amount it is sold for. It will be paid to the WAFC over a 20 year period just as it is being done in the SANFL. We should emand payment within 14 days just as the VFL demanded the 4 Million in 1986. But the WAFC and AFL are all in bed together. WAFL is almost dead now and it will never ever recover. Mission accomplished.

no way 40 million will be handed over in 14 days......20 yrs you say hey?.....2 million a year.....bank half each year for a rainy day.....divide the rest between the G7.....

actually Perth are gonna be sweet with the WCE/Lathlain deal in a year or two so don't include them, that makes it a G6.....

come to think of it Subi have actually been sweet with the AFL indirectly for donkeys years through Subi Oval, so lets not include them.....that makes it a G5.....

pretty sure Freo have been paying for shit loads of stuff at Freo Oval for nearly 20 yrs.....so lets not include SF......

that leaves 250K each for WP, EF, SD and Cl every year for the next 20 yrs....plus access to the rainy day account.....sounds fair to me ;)

Almost dead , mate the last rights have been read!

Demand the money up front or at least half, any delay will mean an out for them.

Radical restructure would mean the immediate exile of Peel and EP from the comp ir at the very least Peel.

The remnant WAFL would continue on, Subi would have to be looked at, with 2 Million in the bank at leastby virtue of AFL fixturing, a moratorium could be drawn up that reduced capital fund payments as they could draw down their own incomes.

Its not that hard to work out.

Ground rationilisation, the Future of Perth FC ?.. well if they end up as the host club for WCE, thats the end of their WAFL tenure,

If the WAFC "sell' the licences back to the AFL it will be the final nail in the coffin for the WAFL clubs and competition. Ther won't even be lip service paid to the WAFL. It will all be about the AFL competition and who gives a stuff about the WAFL. I would suggest that the propect of any of the supposed income going back to the WAFL clubs as less likely than me voting for Abbott's mob or Barnett's mob in the next Federal and State elections. The devils incarnate ressies' teams will play on the same WA ground as the devil incarnate (about 4-5 hours earlier). I would further suggest that within a matter of years there would be no ressies' competition in the "WAFL Competition".

Further to points made about the relevance and exposure of the WAFL - there won't be any relevance and the only exposure will be for Peel and the club formerly known as East Perth.

Wat I don't understand is why do WAFL supporters want the end of the WAFL competition!

It could be closer than you think. Forced redundancies took place on Monday, with what was from all accounts a bitter meeting taking place. Has me stuffed why they don't look at an organization like Steel Blue as a major sponsor. I'd even be happy getting one or two of the directors on board, as they have played WAFL football in the 80's, and obviously have a good brain for business.

Heard there was going to be a meeting between WAFC and the WAFL presidents this week regarding what took place re the 8 given the lemon and sarse. Also they were going to advise of the"financial" position "facing" the WAFC and the TV deal, which hasn't been signed off yet.

That is of no surprise. They are sitting back and going to give us the Ultimate
INSULT if the report is true.
