After all - from their own mouths
'there is no interest' - 'wont be watching the game' - 'waste of time' and on & on...
Those left will at least be an informed bunch for comment as they supported the ENTIRE team and 'watched the game'.

Funny, it is similar to what I was thinking. All the defenders of the selected side will claim a win when the team beat up the NEAFL like a bully.

Just like West Coast are apparently back in form for beating GWS.

Good come back - BUT ....
The players I am sure don't feel that way - I'll bet they know very little about there opponents other they represent several states and territory,,, and will wear their state jumper with a will to win and with pride and rightly so.

At no stage do I feel they will consider themselves a BULLY and nor will their supporters.

As for West Coast considering themselves back on track after the GWS win ... I'm guessing they are taking any moral boost they can to create a positive for their group, time will tell if they have over reached or if the physiological gamble paid off.
Natanui seems happy at the moment - not sure if that's his $800,000.00+ a year salary might be apart of it though .. :silly:

The game has been moved to Blacktown Beasley your right. They were concerned with them ripping up the Playing surface..
Strange we have Colts,Reserves and then the league on the same ground in our games and not a problem..
Gee the crowd should be incredible at Blacktown.
All a waste of time. Just hope none of our players get injuries through this
game. :(

Gee I wonder if Parra are playing this week GO PARRA.. Nice win last week v St George 40 nil..

They should have moved it to Manuka as there is no game there this weekend.

WIN Canberra have been showing a fair bit of NEAFL on their news lately. There would have been more support, better ground than Blacktown.

It would have been very easy to put every player on the coach to Canberra from Sydney.

More AFL incompetence.

After thought: There is a high chance the level of the game could be equal to, or better than the Richmond v GWS clash. Now, the AFL wouldn't want anyone to see that would they?

"(WA coach) Bill Monaghan has put a side together that's balanced and can win the game," Lee said.

comment ripped from the West today. So Bill has put this team together, not state selectors according to his skipper.

Interesting comment Dirty Weekend. This was in the back of my mind earlier in the week re selections etc.
Strange that if Mona picked the team he would risk so many WP key players :)
How and who selects the Captain as well. What process does it involve because in my opinion a strange choice.
Now we come to the printed selection panel

Coach Bill Monaghan and his match committee - chairman of selectors Ross Parker and assistants Craig Smoker, Aidan Parker and Gavin Brown - have several dilemmas as they prepare to finalise the 30-man squad.

Ross Parker chairman of selectors? Did a bit of googling as the guy was not familiar to me.. Only found he was with SD in 2011 on board and not sure if still there. So what is his credentials to hold this position? Any feed back on him appreciated

The NEAFL side is in the main players unknown to me. Cant see a combo of QLD,NT,ACT,NSW Players being able to gel as a team? WA should on our record win this game easily.. Which once again would make it a circus and a waste of WAFL funds that could of been used elsewhere.. or is the AFL footing the bill? Time will tell..

ACT and QLD have two very distinct styles so I have seen. QLD teams play a quicker game similar to the WAFL, whilst ACT teams play a little slower, but much harder contact.

Ross Parker was from Claremont and then went to Swans under Toddy in the late 70's, rover who ran all day and went on to do ultra marathons like Cliff Young.
his son is Brendon Parker who played for Swans and West Perth and was the CEO that left Swans in an "interesting" state.
think Ross is now the forward scout for West Perth.

Thanks for that Bio Mark very informative.. I did find something on google that had him as at swans in the Admin I am sure of it in 2011?

Now possibly Forward Scout for WP? Thats interesting.. So cant work out why he would of been selected as Chairman of Selectors for this state side? Went through my Bouncedown Magazine and could find him on the WAFC or any WAFL club administration lists so why did he get that position.. Qualificatoins? wonder if he got a say anyway?

For anyone who couldnt get a copy here is the 2014 Bouncedown magazine will all player lists and heaps of stats etc ect.. A handy reference book
