There's no way ef or sf will survive now that the dockers have a wafl team, both will be financially ruined, there will be very little membership base and sponsorships will dry up in record time, younger members are already non existant, as if it wasn't bad enough that the dockers came in , now they will come right into the very limited wafl market and even more limited local market, the AFL have already stuffed foundation day derby up the last big money spinner for wafl, the wafl dockers will no doubt be playing east Perth eagles foundation day soon.

You could look forward to a very sterile and different wafl in ten years.

Luckily the WAFL still have great clubs like SD, WP & P with passionate supporters who stick by their side through thick & thin & dont drop off when they go through a rough trot!!

East Perth members this is your warning. If this rumour is true then you can bet your bottom dollar that the Eagles will want to rename your club as well.(hey so those Swans boys who put your future name on the scoreboard were prophets!!) You have a chance to make a stand but you have to do it soon. On another note if South and East Fremantle were to merge, what would they be called? Not Fremantle as they will already have a team in the WAFL?

Yes that is correct. The name change will happen whether their members like it or not! If South Fremantle and East Fremantle were to merge, why not call the team Port of Fremantle, after all it is a port town. Or the bullsharks?

Haha Bullsharks..I like it. Seriously though I don't care what Peel are called and don't think they would care either as they have no history to preserve, but East Perth as much as I hate them have to stay East Perth even if it is only in name

And there in lies the problem, the dockers have effectively stolen the traditional Fremantle Identity...

They would probably have to just drop the freo location tag and be known as the port or southern stingrays , bullsharks or something like that. and be red white and blue.

anyway East Perth, yep their days are numbered will be Eagles within a few years, that will have a massive impact on all clubs as supporters drift to the Eagles with all their marketing power, how will mad keen Eagles fans who were former Swans people barrack against their own AFL team in the WAFL??

This is going to get very messy. Fortunatly I dont follow either of the local AFL clubs , but there will be many local WAFL fans with some tough decisions to make.

Imagine mad keen fans dockers who might be say EF fans people going along to see their AFL team on a Friday night and then seeing their Fremantle Dockers team all the familar faces , same jumper, same players barracking against them the next day when they play EF ... will they still barrack against the dockers - not going to happen.

yep its all closing in pretty fast now, Im seriously worried about the future of my club now, this year has been crap obvisouly and this will be the 4th straight year we will make a significant financial loss, and from next year with the dockers coming into the WAFL its just another kick in the guts.
