What about the people and budding young footy players of Mandurah? Didn't we all put up with this basket case of a club so that they could grow footy in an increasingly populated area of Perth? Suddenly this doesn't matter? Isn't Cockburn a bloody long way from Mandurah?

As I've said before, the wafc is staggeringly incompetent and I call on those in charge of footy at the wafc to resign. If they don't the government should intervene and sack them.

Went into the bar to get a beer and came across a guy I used to play footy with at amateur level. This bloke was always a Freo and SF supporter, so a asked him what he was doing at an EF game. His reply "came to watch the dockers players for Peel". Not sure if south were playing at the same time, but is this a sign of what is going to happen, in that he'd rather watch Peel than SF?
I did say to him who he supports more out of Peel and SF, his reply after having to think about it for a few seconds, (work that one out), was SF. I walked away wondering for how long....

Yes mate no doubts about it, you can forget a heap of supporters hanging in at SF and the young ones will flock to see the wafl dockers, if they move to Cockburn the two local freo wafl clubs are rooted, it's all about them, this a big marketing grab by the dockers and more bad news for sf and ef.

to be honest I doubt sf and ef will survive another decade, they will merge by then.

Goodie, its all about keeping puppets in place for the wce and dockers, there is no way anyone will resign.

But the question to ask yourself Bazza, and im not attacking anyone here as im a diehard EFFC fan is, will EFFC and SFFC fold because of the move by Freo Dockers to control their own reserves team, or will they fold because the clubs concerned wont embrace change and the 15 or so old members that always seem to winge about anything their club does have passed on due to old age and the club hasnt found the new members because its been to busy looking after the old members?????? Its a mouthfull I know but its a fair question.

I dont see alot of winging from Claremont supporters ever on this forum or others, they have just rolled with the changes and continue to win games of footy which is their job

In any organisation you either embrace the change and get better or you fold.

hell lucky this isnt American Sport, they can just pick up a franchise over there and move it to another city if they dont like the way the current city is running the organisation.

how would the diehards handle that

As far as I know East Fremantle Oval is to be re-developed too in the not too distant future if residents have their way? The Wafl is under attack from every angle. East Fremantle will likely move to Fremantle Oval. The Sharks and Souths will merge because I can't see a ground sharing arrangement happening.

There's no way ef or sf will survive now that the dockers have a wafl team, both will be financially ruined, there will be very little membership base and sponsorships will dry up in record time, younger members are already non existant, as if it wasn't bad enough that the dockers came in , now they will come right into the very limited wafl market and even more limited local market, the AFL have already stuffed foundation day derby up the last big money spinner for wafl, the wafl dockers will no doubt be playing east Perth eagles foundation day soon.

You could look forward to a very sterile and different wafl in ten years.

That is spot on. The company will do exactly as old bronte treated the members at leederville! The name change will happen, paperwork signed etcetera and who gives a blinking toss the concerns of members?
