BH without looking at records.I can never remember West Perth being a strong colts team.Im going back 40 years.Hardly ever made the colts finals..
Sure Claremont,East Perth East Freo even Swans have had decent colts sides.Pretty sure Claremont have won the most Colts Grand Finals.

BH the Colts started in 1957 and it's really hard fought. This is the 65 Th Colts GF
Claremont 17
East Fremantle 11
South Fremantle 9
Perth 8 seven of them in the 1960's
Swan Districts 7
East Perth 5
Subiaco 4
Peel 2
West Perth 2.
West Perth 1968,1990.

There's an article on Perth Now about the day and how it's going to be a festival of footy with street closures and performing artists and so on. It also had a shot of the oval and gotta say, it looks terrific if the photo was anything to go by.

Absolutely amazed there are still tickets freely available the day before the GF, with just 14,000 on offer, 2020 sold out in 2 days.

There is no doubt that playing the GF at a suburban ground instead of the State's Major Sporting Venue turns people away from going, a warm 30 degree day with next to no shade, lack of bar & toilet facilities, still charging $30+ for entrance fee despite playing at an archaic venue etc will all be negatives for the neutral punter.
It would be a WP house you would think with them playing the 3 lowest supported clubs in the WAFL in CL (League), SU (Reserves) & Peel (Colts) across the day.
Last year's GF at Optus Stadium which drew approx 30k also had large supporter base clubs in SF (League), PH (Reserves) & SD (Colts) all involved over the day.

According to reports on the radio. If you don't purchase your tickets before 5 PM, Friday.
Your not going to the Grand Final. No cash at the gates admissions.Or online ticket purchases on Saturday.
So if only 8,000 tickets are sold by Friday afternoon. And 6,000 are walk-ups on Saturday, your not getting into Leederville
Would of thought West Perth fans would love to win a Grand Final at Leederville.
Everyone driving to Leederville be careful where you park.Town Of Vincent will be out in force with parking tickets. From a leaked source from the shire.

2020 had just 10,000 attend. How many more would they have sold without the quaint crowd cap is something we will never know. Obviously more tickets to sell in 2022 but what is clearly apparent is that Optus Stadium seems to be a draw in itself. People are not as stupid as the commission think they are. $30 to watch Joondalup and Claremont at a usual shit tip venue and they double the price to get in? That price though at Optus Stadium is justified and you don't get the feeling you have been had either.

A Leederville Oval GF might be a nice little money spinner for the commission but it is unnecessary. Not like they are hard up for money now is it? Where is the promotion of the game and getting people to come and watch a product that they may not ordinarily do.

Nailed it in a nutshell TE.
The other thing a GF at an archaic venue could do is turn people off the WAFL for good.
The days of standing in the outer, baking in the sun, at old run down suburban venues we all grew up with are over.
You will still get the WAFL diehards attend but next to no chance of attaining a new sustainable audience unless for nostalgia reasons.
Patrons are now used to modern, accessible, seated, covered, comfortable sporting venues eg- Perth Stadium, Perth Arena, Docklands, MCG etc at home and many, many others overseas.

We all know there was a covid cap of 10k in 2020 and we also know there is cap here of 14k only 4k more and it's not looking like making it, we do know that the 2020 game sold out very quickly a clear indication that the demand was much higher and thus the projection had the capacity would of been larger would of been higher.

I know WP have not really had a huge following nor do Claremont ( but then they played in 2020 ) but to be playing a GF at The cardies traditonal home should of been a draw card for a quick sell out I would of thought.

Absolutley perfect conditions for Saturday as well.

maybe AFLW has killed it.
