How about you tell us how much Perth (and the other traditional WAFL clubs) receive each season via WAFC payments?

Then tell us how much Perth’s average profit/loss was for the 2017-2019 seasons? 2020 with Covid JobKeeper and a shortened season doesn't give an accurate indication of WAFL clubs normal profits.

What operating costs have Perth reduced or eliminated due to the ground sharing arrangement with West Coast? Also what major capital expenditure has West Coast funded that Perth gets direct benefit from at little to no cost to Perth?

You just keep living in your alternate reality where clubs don’t need to be profitable to operate.

Have you ever heard of the Perth Football League?

That’s where Perth FC will be after it trims it’s  sails sufficiently.

TT, I wonder by the term "you adjust dude" that means Perth would have to field a team minus all their big gun recruits, because they haven't got the funds to pay them, thus relying on players from their junior zone for a 22 each game....can't imagine the Perth boys being happy watching that 1 goal Subi effort each weekend....I know EF would be more farked on and off the park without the WCE and Freo nipple.

TT yes the VFL teams have seriously stuffed the WAFL and my team on two occasions has contributed to it, I make no argument against that!

Having said that I am sorry to tell you that without the VFL teams injecting however many millions it is into the WAFL each year we would have a competition that would still exist but rely on the wealthy benefactors that not all clubs have access to within their membership. That would see us in the same situation as the EPL and many other leagues around the world.

Having sponsors etc is enough to pay for some of the process but is nothing close to what is required to run the WAFL clubs in the current economic world. Sponsors want big exposure for their bucks and the love of a club will on get them so far! We at EP (like it or not) have been really lucky to have a benefactor that has not only sponsored and brought other sponsorship to EP but if look past your dislike to most if not all the WAFL clubs when he was with AHG.

My wife has just told me abt something in the worst which will further inflame the VFL hatred, apparently due to WCE and Peelmantle not having access to enough players the season is on hold til' august (do not quote me cos she relayed through her toast).

I get it that the 2 AFL teams and state government are basically keeping the WAFC and by extension the WAFL afloat financially, but who owns the licenses ffs? They should be made to contribute to WA footy whether they have reserve teams in the WAFL or not. The Eagles in particular are a financial behemoth in a 2 horse town on the back of the WA footy public and given their bank balance, should be told to contribute more to grass roots footy.

Grump, if what your wife heard is accurate then the easy solution is for WCER & Peelmantle to step out of the comp for the remainder of the year, or until they get back to pre lockdown situation, leave it to the 8 WAFL clubs, re-jig the fixtures and get on with it. Or whoever was due to play either reserves team gets a forfeit, picks up 4 points but no percentage. Why trash the whole comp because the two primadonnas cant field teams. One other alternative is to end the H & A season now and play finals, neither reserves team would have made the finals anyway.

The WAFC hold the licenses - it should be noted that the WAFC did not exist when the Eagles were established. So could not have purchased the $4 million license from the VFL. Anyway a discussion about finances to me is a bit boring. The focus of the discussion should be about what is right for the WAFL  After all this is the obligation of the WAFC. As the games governing body in this state surely what is best for WAFL should be the basis for decision making with regard to anything that may effect it. Like playing full time AFL players against semi professional WAFL players. The evidence would suggest this is not good for many reasons. Trying to win flags for the Eagles and the Dockers should not be part of the decision making process.
