And don’t tell me you don’t have an immense sense of pride seeing a Rance, Jetta and Broad strutting their stuff on the MCG and winning premierships.

I have no idea why people keep biting on it. Well I do it’s because they know I’m right and it offends them because they do love their WAFL club and they can see the harm their afl club is doing.

I think maybe you've had too many cooking sherries 58 as clearly I'm talking about the Chunder who were an embarrassment for the first 20 years until Freo bailed them out to the current WCER wankers.  Piss them both off I say.

It makes a mockery of the WAFL for the Eagles to put those players out there and call it a WAFL team. How on earth does it help AFL players to play with a bunch of guys who, though I'm sure they try hard, just aren't up it? How do you develop your game when leads aren't being honoured, shepherds aren't being laid, kicks are being butchered? How does a forward develop when the team has 16 inside 50s? But unfortunately the WAFL has already signalled what will happen. They will allow the Eagles concessions next year so they improve. That's what they said: the Eagles should be neither too strong nor too weak. So next year they will be allowed more quality top up players. My tip is they will be allowed first crack at de-listed players in the guise of some kind of mentoring role, with those players being outside points and salary cap. 

At times I'll have a look at the Big Footy site to see what sort of meltdown Eagles fans are having. To my surprise, some of them are calling for the reserves to be scrapped and players spread throughout the WAFL. With the sort of insight I don't expect from Eagles fans, they made the same points people on this site have: that AFL players would benefit from playing with teams that have a history, a culture, a fan base and care about winning. Plus it would get them out of the AFL bubble and teach a bit of humility playing alongside guys who work/study full time. Unfortunately, instead of the WAFC telling the Eagles the concept is an embarrassment and a reserves team is no longer supported, they will just ask Simmo what he wants them to do to fix the situation. 

TN, pretty sure the 5 WCE listed boys today v EF, would of gained plenty of humility and outside bubble air time today playing along side 17 other guys who all work or study full time....so not sure your point there......but yes totally agree Saturdays result v EF really highlights the pitfalls of an AFL team struggling with injuries, using mediocre top up players in a state league comp....sadly it was not a good advertisement for WAFL footy, but hey nice for us EF fans, EF was handing out the thrashing for a change instead of being on the receiving end. Considering WCER were more then competitive in their first year in 2019 - finishing 4th, one would like to think the WAFL will wait till WCE injury list reduces before pulling the trigger on some of those concessions highlighted in your post TN....but then again it is the WAFL we are talking about here...what WCE wants they usually get sadly

Of course no-one could have possibly predicted that there would be times when the Eagles and/or Dockers would have a number of injuries resulting in very few of their players being available for their reserves team.

Let's talk about a couple of the lies that have been told about these reserves teams.  For example, that there would be a significant increase in attendances.  That was patently a lie.  Another lie was that it was essential to the development of the players to play in the same team.  This would allow them to have the same structure and method of play as the senior team.  How is that possible given the paucity of actual AFL registered players playing the team?
