They have mass dinners at Perth Stadium you know.

Just after the footy season.

But can the Football commission be bothered to put the WAFL Grand Final Day at WA's showpiece stadium.
Perhaps I should have added that they would also be required to pay the entry fee to get in as well.  This should also apply to any AFL scout.

And that’s why you’ll never be president of Swans zero nouce and would risk the club losing a mint.
Just because it wasn't the answer you wanted, it doesn't make it the wrong answer.

If I was President no more free lunches for the WAFC.

Th reality is it is the wrong answer and utter obfuscation and quite laughable, we all know the Swans board would vote overwhelmingly to host the WAFL GF at Bassendean in a flash if given the chance, the members and supporters would flock to the ground, the Club would bank a mint and deluded clowns like you would be irrellevant and SDFC would probably celebrate a premiership with an electric pulsating atmosphere at home. And back to the original point of this thread, what looks better on TV - yes a packed Basso,

Anyway SwanALP42 - I clearly you making pius statements about how you strongly opposed Barnett's Burswood Stadium and saying you would not go to Barnett stadium unless it was built at Subi.

Comical

Yep....I agree with 42 and STD. If you ask the players as they did last year, all said they had a preference to play at Optus as they'll probably never get another chance and it also befits the occasion. Also take into account spectator comfort. No suburban ground has the facilities to cater for 20,000 spectators even with temporary loos, kiosks, bars etc. It's still a very uncomfortable experience and an unnecessary one when you consider we have a state of the art $1 billion plus stadium available.

Well your wrong on that for a start, because Brock Higgins was asked on a TV interview and said he preffered not to play at Optus, saying it was to big and empty.

Bazza what if Elon Musk decided to pay $1bill to have the WAFL gf played in California as part of his staff Xmas party.
So long as price is right?

Or maybe gf of top footy Comp in the State should be played at top footy ground in State???
If Elon Musk put up 1 Billion to host a game anywhere the WAFC would be fools not to take that - great price & take it in a heartbeat to set everything up forever

Yep seeings we are playing fantasy games about 1 Billion Dollar sponsorship deals, that if anyone was bonkers enough to offer 1 Billion bucks the WAFL and presidents would take it in a heart beat, they have a long history of charity money grabs.

Well I notice the GF Venue is "yet to be announced" on the WAFL website so its till possible Optus might be used and your dream of Perth playing a GF at Optus might come true.

Yep. I can sort of understand the rationale of playing last years GF at Freo with the WAFC trying to recover financially and from a reputation sense from years of incompetence under that idiot Gavin Taylor but I'd be really pissed if it was anywhere other than Optus this year no matter who is playing off.

Exactly, just like amateur clubs get to play their grand final at a WAFL ground and that has always been the case when there was no AFL. It's like a reward for making the grand final, it's a showcase event and both players and spectators should be rewarded with playing and viewing the WAFL grand final at the best venue. Some years the crowd will be low, other years a bumper crowd. I want to enjoy the best facilities where I know I will be able to sit in a comfortable seat under cover if necessary and have plenty of food and beverage options and decent toilets I don't have to walk half a mile to and queue up.

How come they stopped playing Semis at Subi years ago? Should they go back to the best stadium in the State as previous?

Actually more like 3K these days.

I take it you mean the numbers just don't stack up anymore BC?

And anyway when was the last time the WAFL GF consistently  got over 20K at a GF?
