Very clever, Freeze and TT, to seize on one quarter of football to disprove the argument. TT, if the concern was playing at Lathlain, that might explain the first quarter - if your boys were there, we were playing at Claremont. Anyway, we have kicked 2.4 since quarter time. Our two best players are Quartermaine and Avery, from EF and C respectively.

I don't understand why anyone would think footy is in some way immune from the adverse effects that lower socio-economic status brings. It is well recognised, all across the Western world, that people of lower socio-economic standing have worse outcomes in almost every measure. Health - substance use, obesity, smoking, dentition - crime, education, you name it. Our list has 36 players who have played league footy. Only two - Byrne and Penny - have come from lower-social-economic metro zones. They are both from Thornlie, and Penny is unlikely to add to his single league game. So no-one from Belmont, Maddington, Kenwick, Gosnells. There are, I think, very few local players knocking on the door from the reserves and our colts are clearly in for a long season.
Haha some funny posts here, even S42 showing a sense of humour. Yes a week is a long time in football, so is 2 hours as shown by the score line in the colts. Still, I’ll take a 43 point drubbing over a 102 point annihilation any day.

Ease up on the facts Ted, they don’t want to hear it. Great work.
Get on your bike.

Completely tongue in cheek Ted - the first quarter our colts might as well of been at Lathlain.

Just like a quarter doesn’t make a game, two games doesn’t make a season. Perth have been unfortunate to come up against two of the Top 4 colts sides so far this year.

It’s been mentioned before but Perth has produced a number of quality players over the last 30 years who have gone on to the AFL. Perth’s biggest issues seem to be that:
- very few return back to Perth post AFL career. Why?
- second tier players don’t seem to continue on and forge out good WAFL careers. Again why?

If you feel Claremont’s zone is that much better than others, let’s assume it is an outlier and remove it from the discussion for just a moment.

Given that the WAFC endeavours to set metro zones that provide relatively even participation levels around the WAFL clubs home base, do we think that Perth’s zone is worse than other clubs?

I don’t believe Perth faces bigger or different issues to most, if not all clubs. Every clubs zones have issues - you can identify them and work to overcome them or you can use them as an excuse.

If you reckon you can fix socio economic issues you should be in government as they can’t do it.
Perth don’t have the best zone so to think it’s as simple as working hard is a ridiculous comment.
Every colts team bar claremont has up and down years, some more down than up

Perth have no chance to be a consistently competitive club.

TT is one of the dumbest and nastiest planks of wood to ever post on here

PFC have no issue whatsoever getting AFL blokes to come back, cook, army, Changa, Leon, dion wtf are you on about.

Our second tier players??? What everyone other than our star recruits??

We are the outliers not Claremont you dunce.
Interesting, given you’ve resorted to posting abusive comments  - not the first time from you either.

How many Perth players have been drafted to AFL over the last 25 years and how many have returned?

Hopefully the Perth football department doesn’t have the same defeatist attitude - if they do then you’re really stuffed.

How did Perth get Avery from Claremont? He was almost their best colt last year ......what was it...33 disposals in the GF in 2020.

I'd be playing him league right now from what I've seen.
LaH you are presuming he is allowed to play league.

Honestly STD, you really do have a happy knack of making yourself look like a frigginn immature idiot.  Is this the best you can add to your argument?

Apologies for jumping the gun there STT....looks like my prediction for a Perth colts win was definitely premature....as for being a smart arse, pretty sure EF colts haven't beaten Perth's for about 2 years.....no mean feat considering the depth of EF metro and country zones.....and considering Perth have finished above EF in the league for a few years now, I am surely the last person to knock the  PFC....

Who did Claremont recruit???

Why should we always have to recruit and recruit well to be competitive??

PS oh and 58shark, I’m not as upset as all that. I actually barrack for Claremont in the reserves and we had a good win!!
We didn’t have time to recruit a key forward after Essendon drafted Waterman and Busher left.

If your not moving forward in footy, you’re going backwards - everyone needs to recruit!

But we did recruit Watson, Treacy, Patmore and Carter back to the club.

You’ve avoided answering the question STD, but how many of your AFL draftees have returned to play at Perth over the last 25 years? How many have returned to play at another WAFL club?

And we rarely drink a chardonnay at our football department meetings...we like to pair an appropriate wine with the meal served and generally select an SSB rather than a chardonnay  with seafood.
