STT if that Cl zone was Perth's zone, would you be happy sharing it out with other clubs....I reckon most opposition fans wouldn't want to......same as most opposition fans wouldn't want Perth's current zones.....

La Hincha, I know West Perth have made trips over to meet with Central Districts and study how they turned their vast Pommie dominated district into a football powerhouse in the first decade of this century. Centrals is based around the huge suburb of Elizabeth which is where huge numbers of British migrants ended up to work in the car factories in particular. Centrals worked for years and years to convert enough over to our game and it only started to bear fruit in the 90's when they started to compete in finals, that converted that into 9 flags in 11 years where their war cry was "From Poms to Premiers". The same should happen for WP if they keep up the hard work as CD did, they will be a powerhouse over the next 20 years if they can line those pommie ducks up and convert them.

While Subi do have some plum coastal zones we also have Balga, and I'll stand corrected, Mirrabooka and Marangaroo, both those suburbs have big African populations who are soccer mad, but we are now starting to see some very good players/athletes coming up for both Subi and EP who cover those areas. Many of these kids have had upbringings that are unbelievably tough, refo camps in Africa, child soldiers the lot, so a hard job to get them in a frame of mind to play our footy.

I went to their first premiership at football park. 30 000 shouting "You Dogs"

Great that West Perth have done this. There's more going on than you realise.

Minder was a great show. Maybe that could be West Perth 's new signature song...

"I could be so good for you... I'm gonna help ya..."

I see there is a West Perth  jumper on display in the new museum. A multi cultural reference.

Great work La H. Strong evidence that Perth,  East Perth and Subi don't have great zones. Yet Subi Colts have been flying lately, so that's a puzzle. Also, as has been argued about passionately in this forum for years,Subi have dominated the Wafl since 2004.

I know what people think about that. But it is interesting that Perth and Subi seemingly start from the same Colts base. Perhaps we do train harder. (Just joking)

I have suggested the opposite above, Subi being a coastal club etc. Perhaps there have been changes in recent years in the subi zone for the better, despite east of Wanneroo rd being "dead".

Just on that, didn't the most successful Wafl player in history come from Balga junior footy club?
I'm confused by Subi's recent success also. I've looked through all the numbers...tried to find an answer.

One thing stood out.

North Beach JFC, a Claremont club on Subiaco's border.

In the last 3 years Subi have had many many colts players from North Beach. Before that hardly any which was a mystery in itself. This year Subi have 9. Claremont have 5.

Yes, I know this happens at Kingsley also.....it's our club but so close to the WP border that many players belong to them. Always been that way.

This never used to happen with North Beach. Something has changed. I don't know what. It's made a difference.

Has the club been handed to Subi without any publicity? Were the North Beach folks previously not being upfront about addresses? Allocating players to Claremont without letting the WAFL know exact location details?

Or did the WAFC employees sort out something that Subi folk couldn't?

I would like to unravel this mystery.

But gee whiz, it helps having an extra Sorrento-Duncraig suddenly in the mix.

Good pick up La Hincha and a pretty simple answer.

North Beach JFC is a Claremont zoned club but the boundary changes to Subi just a couple of kicks to the north and also east of their home ground.

North Beach JFC had only about 50 kids playing 20 years ago with a much older demographic in the area and the majority of kids in the area playing at Sorrento or Carine and some also at Karrinyup.

Fast forward and the area has been rezoned with lots of old 1000m blocks sold off and subdivided with younger families moving into the area. The 2 primary schools either side of North Beach JFC are packed and Marion Primary up the road is too. Karrinyup Juniors moved east of the freeway to Stirling AFC (Balcatta). The football facilities at North Beach, with $11m spent there about 7 or 8 years ago, are amazing and now NBJFC has over 800 players.

The percentage of players going to Claremont or Subi from North Beach probably hasn’t changed but the volume has changed significantly.

Subi get the benefit because the majority of the area NBJFC pull from sits in Subiaco zone  - northern part of North Beach, Karrinyup, Carine, Waterman's Marmion.

Where as Claremont get the southern North Beach and Trigg domiciled players (did is use that correctly 42?)

Time to just give it to Subi. Karrinyup Road and the Trigg bushland is a natural border. North Beach belonging to Claremont is odd...it's basically in the heart of the Subi zone. Moreover, Claremont don't need it....Claremont people are generally fairly honest about all this. I think they know
Subiaco have requested that change a number of times - 2009 and 2014 that I’m aware of and Claremont agreed in 2009 but the North Beach JFC and Amateurs challenged it with the WAFC refusing to become Subiaco zoned clubs.

Does anyone really believe that in the past 10 years or so that the WAFL has improved or gone backwards?  Has junior footy prospered under the control of the WAFC?  etc. etc.

Everyone except Tiger Tales.

Yes who should get the gold, subi or Claremont? Can PFC have some say, brass?

And I know about northern suburbs and yes plenty of poms and saffas but they are NOT in the majority. Except maybe at a pommy themed pub.

And soccer is winning over footy nowhere.  Soccer is never going to overtake footy.  Never. Nowhere. Just not going to happen.
I do find your whinging hilarious STD but it’s not as  funny as you trying to draw parallels of a perceived lack of football talent in your zone by comparing ATAR results of public high schools, who are required to take students of all academic abilities, to that of elite private schools who only accept students who are good to excellent academically and then further filter these selected students to manipulate their ATAR ranking, by not allowing the lower performing students to even sit their ATAR.

Yes your colts got thumped by Swans, EP colts thumped Subi by a similar margin in Rd 1. Swans thumped Subi colts by over 20 goals in the preseason. Is Subis zone worse than Perths? Or is East Perth and Swans zone that much better?

Claremont’s Futures are 1 & 4 and got belted by Subi by 100 points. Perth are 4 & 1, sitting 3rd and  could finish 2nd if they beat Claremont this week.

If Claremont lose we’ll keep our zone because it’s clearly less talented than Perth’s and why would Perth want to swap?

Subiaco Futures are undefeated so does that mean their zone is amazing despite their colts getting beaten by Swans and EP by 100+ points

This is so confusing...maybe a St Mary’s maths genius can do a statistical analysis of football talent as part of her ATAR and present it with her application to play colts at Perth in 2022.

SD and EP need help also, something which can be done with the abolition of Peel's country zonne; I repeat, SD  has won just 40 per cent of its colts games. I know colts football can be a little flukey, but such a win ratio is far too low.
