23,0000 1979 GF - but it has changed a lot since then.

dont forget it was pre sold out so the crowd was there regardless of whether.

Turned out a glorious day weather wise.

Not sure how old you are , but every GF in the WAFLs big days of 70s and 80s about 90% of crowd stood in the open on concrete terrace and open grass hill.

23,0000 wtf Baz? You do mean 52,000, don’t you?
2x25= Seinor and Michael = 1xBrian Peake

hopefully if this joke continues the grand final is played at the ground of the winner of the 2nd semi.

Upside down logic, I guess if they never sold the tickets that wouldnt matter either,,,LMAO

The large EP crew voted with their feet....straight out of the gate after the Ressies finished and who could blame them!

Long time to wait and they wanted to celebrate, used to see the same thing at Subi and Optus as well, minor grades leave early, big deal.

upside down logic is calling last Sunday a success.
based on what ?
lets see, what would people prefer - to sit on concrete for 8 hours or in a seat at one of the best stadiums in the world.
they were lucky the game was close, if it was played at Fremantle oval in 2019 they would have been 100 people left in the last quarter.

Very entertaining and hard fought game of footy, low scoring doesn’t always mean a boring game. Would have liked to see the umps rightly ping Suban for holding the ball 45m from our goal on the members boundary in that last couple of minutes to make it really interesting though...
Great atmosphere. Fantastic playing surface.
I can’t be bothered weighing into the Optus stadium debate but reckon if we could get 20 thousand into a suburban ground it’d work well. Members guaranteed tickets. What would have the biggest capacity now, Leederville?

That was the best. As a kid i stood on a box. You were never sure if it would be a standing day or a sitting day.

Yep all good points, mate, yes I would say Leederville would be the biggest now, you would get close to 15-20K in there, a bit of work, lifting the surface, also a decent score board (bigger) apart from that its pretty good, the narrow gap behind goals is a bit weird in a big crowd, it also urgently needs some decent entry points, although with scanned tickets that easy now through a large gate. Good area as well, bars cafes, and easy on the train.

Stand the Test wrote: You know what the comp needs. A close game at Optus in front of 25000 fans. That would let everyone know we are still here.

11,000 at sffc home ground. Meh.

Imagine the comp getting the stadium rocking. It is totally possible.

Stop giving up on the comp for selfish reasons bazza and others.

Aim a little bit higher than Sunday please.

At least the west in favour, that’s got to be good news for us.

STT imagine the epic 2010 WAFL GF at Optus with the 25k crowd all spaced apart like they have done for afl games there this season!
Now that would have rocked its new foundations!
