File the 15 K attending a WAFL GF at Joondalup with Leedy's guarantee of how 100 random non WAFL people would think - under F for fantasy. How 15 K will get there is not a problem because no where near that amount will be going up there.

If Perth, WP or SF make the GF against one of each other I will be keen to put $100 on that call Mr T, 15k will comfortably be exceeded.

Perth? Can't see them even making the finals! but have it your way and heaven forbid if the GF is up there and more than 15 K don't attend give the $100 to one of your clubs small business creditors.

I cant see McGowan moving to the next phase anytime soon so the attendance at the GF at any of the suburban venues is only ever going to be about 7000 with the 50% rule enforced.

Just have it at Perth Stadium ffs at least there is still a 25k crowd allowed.

Surely these highly paid Government workers at the WAFC can organise a better deal at Perth Stadium you know the one they own and built?!?!

Yeah agree, Joondy doesn't cut it for me. lack of atmosphere is a big issue, catering is a rip off - if you can find any, location is dead as you say, as bad as EF Oval nothing around to make a day of it.

Baz,

What a pile of horse shit, every WAFL ground lacks atmosphere until you get 15-20 punters rock up. There is a massive shopping centre directly across the road (please be careful crossing the road, use the normal pedestrian laws) with coffee shops, all the major fast food outlets and many many more retail outlets.

Its weird that you are the only one singing its praises, theres more to atmosphere than crowd size, Joondy is an artificial creation, it has no long WAFL Heritage and thats what makes a ground, have a look at the heritage at grounds like Bassendean and Fremantle, as for having a shopping mall across the road, mate I dont want to hang around shops before and after a game..boring as batshit, compare that to Oxford street in Leederville, its a got a buz.

The distance from the train station and the parking are a joke location wise and thats before you spend the day actually traveling up there and back through multiple Transperth zones and some cost if you are taking the family up from say Cockburn, its not exactly central is it? But this is typical WAFC while every other comp in the nationa is recentralising its venues, Footy Park gone and Adelaide Oval back, WAverly Gone and Docklands the go, the WAFC decides its a smart idea to send the biggest game of the year to the ends of the earth..

It wont be long before some clown at the WAFC says why not have country WAFL GF in Bunbury or Kal?

Longer term, i think they should play all finals at the WACA, or, alternatively, at clubs which are not partaking in the finals.

Yep, unfortunately we have lost 20 years with delay after delay on about 6 different WACA failed development plans, had they gone ahead years ago we would have 2 quality Football Venues that could be used year round and with world class lights, now we have one huge venue which is great and no back up as the suburban grounds are pretty run down. Leederville could of been a good back up if its redevelopment had fully come to fruition, but its surface, outter and lighting are under done.

I have said it before and maintain that losing Perth oval to soccer was a massive mistake, it was one of the best viewing grounds around, had heaps of room for development potential and could of been the perfect WAFL HQ.

I don't give a shit if the GF is at Joondalup, it should go to the highest place getter. The $100 I would use for a heap of air fresheners and distribute them around your club rooms.

Im the only one on here Baz, its not as if this site has thousands of members ! Im just pointing out that Joondalup IS a good WAFL venue, you blokes are slamming it as equivalent to EF Condemned Park.

Leedy, those days of sitting on a grass bank watching footy for 3 hours are gone. It is considered standard to have a seat these days not a luxury. It’s the first thing the WAFC did when the Eagles entered the VFL, demolish the outer terraces and grass bank at the Princess Margret end and build grandstands so everyone had a seat.

I went to a Fremantle v Colllingwood scratchie up there last year and it was a nightmare to park, then walk around the outer side to first buy a ticket then get in. It was uncomfortable as hell for me sitting on a grass bank, poor amenities such as toilets, food and drink even for small crowds at WAFL matches. Toilets are ok if you’re on the grandstand side.
It’s just a slap in the face to diehard WAFL fans that the WAFC are even considering this.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
