According to The Worst this years GF could very likely be played at Arena Jerkalup to save money and so it doesn't clash with a potential AFL final at Optus if that happens. The ground holds 15k apparently so not sure how that will work as we've had more than that in the last 2 years since moving to Optus plus the place is a shit hole. JT reckons the WAFC will make $100k profit which will be shared by all clubs and I'm sure VW will take all the bar profits. With the WAFC, VW and Joondy Jerkers running the show what could possibly go wrong?

If that is true I think it is another nail in the coffin for the WAFL and reduces it to a third rate competition. A complete joke.

That's what JT in The West is saying Mike. I can see it now with the WAFC treating it as an opportunity for an "instant wage adjustment", West Perth booking all sorts of revenue in the P&L with little chance of it being realised and VW charging exorbitant prices at all bars and other outlets they control...so other WAFL clubs will get about 10 cents each. What a disaster!!!

The way we're going with injuries Mike I'm not sure it'll worry me too much either....oh well...it hurts me to say it but at least it's good for the comp for someone else to have a crack.

My money is still on a Subi V SF Grand Final, I reckon you guys will have enough depth to get you through but it will certainly be a bit closer than last year.

Well...I hope so Mike and if we do make it through hopefully we'll get a few back in the interim to make a game of it but I'm fully expecting to get touched up tomorrow. It's an odd season all round so I guess anything could happen between now and then. For mine, I think we saw a preview to the GF last weekend with Souths taking on the Tiges but who knows.

Interested in thoughts of others around a GF at Joondy.

I have been waiting a long time to see Perth in a GF - was there in 78 - but fark if it was played at Joondalup i am not sure I would go. If Perth Stadium too expensive how about the WACA? That holds 20 thousand doesn't it. I would also prefer Leederville (would like some money spent on the grass one day) or Fremantle oval where I have won a C grade premiership in Amateurs too - just saying

The afl finals will be played in QLD anyway so im not sure what the reasoning for Arena Joondalup is which is hardly the most central WAFL venue?
