Joondalup NO too open and windy, Leederville or Fremantle would be OK because of the terraced areas on the far sides

So if there is only 1 local team in the AFL finals, how is there a clash?
If the final is a Saturday play the GF on a Sunday and vice versus it’s not hard,a weeks notice is plenty of time to adjust to what day the GF will be held to work around the AFL finals.

Just another moronic decision under the stewardship of Taylor...this bloke is making Walton look competent in comparison.

According to JT if they play at Joondy the WAFC makes $100k profit...play at Optus and it's $100k loss. If the WAFC promoted it properly and really took it seriously I'm sure a decent enough crowd would go to Optus to at least break even....but then again, we are talking about the WAFC.

I just can't see how it can be played at any of the suburban grounds given 25k attended in 2018 and 20k last year. Sure those numbers might fall if played at Joondy as a lot of the neutrals might opt not to go but even still logistically, I can't see how it would work.

Joondy is the ground with the least cover and is the most exposed to the elements, it's at the far northern end of the metro area, so imagine the likely scenario of the Souths supporters having to pack an overnight bag just to go to a GF. The idea of a clash with the AFL at Optus is total BS, the WAFL GF has been on a Sunday for years so that the AFL had friday nights and Saturdays to themselves, never been an issue when the Dorks & Weags have been in finals. This is all about dollars so the WAFC dickheads can keep their snouts in the trough. An absolute insult to take the WAFL to any suburban ground especially considering taking it to the most remote ground in the comp (Rushton doesn't count).

The WAFL public need to get behind the GF this year, shouldn't be too hard given Subi are unlikely to be there B)

Neither of those or any WAFL club ground. It's a total FUCK YOU ?? from the WAFC that we are sub class citizens who don't deserve the very best facility for football spectators and change room facilities for players and umpires.

It is an absolute disgrace. They said it will cost the WAFL $100k to play it at Optus. Big FARRRKEN deal. That's a drop in the ocean, to be exact LESS THAN 1% of the annual 11 million dollar football budget. We need to protest loudly about this guys.

The reason that the Amateurs have their A&B GF at Basso is the variety of rooms for social gatherings and of course we don't play finals.
One can only assume that is the reason why the WAFC would opt for Joondy because it has two large function areas.
If that is the case then surely their centre of excellence in Leederville would be the place for the GF.
Forget the WACA it is only 150m long.

When it comes to women's football and cricket they don't hesitate to throw the gates open for free entry or a charitable entrance fee and make a loss.

You arseholes need a reality check. Where do you think the stars of the AFL come from? Time you plonkers got off the plonk.
