Spot on Roman just watch how many players will walk from the WAFL if there is no football played this season!

The costs of running a game (mentioned to be approx $25k) can easily be reduced-
-Go back to 2 field umpires & 2 boundary umpires per game (from 3 & 4 respectively),
-Less umpires advisors needed per game (from 3 to 1 or none),
-Plus with WCE pulling out there will be only 4 games per round instead of 5.

Thats just a start.

Yes there is going to be a cost factor to playing this season for each club but the costs of not playing any footy this year could far outweigh the dollar value imho!

That figure could have been 250 million + STT with no live sport on around the world at the moment and global TV networks absolutely frothing for live sporting content but alas.....

Give me a reason this could not be happening if we had had people capable of lobbying government in the wafl??

Players all get tested, these are freely available now. No crowds. It would be great to watch on telly.

One reason why not please?

If the WAFC were true patriots and cashed in the two AFL licences for $150m then WA footy could do what it likes. Instead of choosing to be peons of the AFL.

Some may see that as Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) but I see it as opportunity. If nothing else, this health emergency offers a chance to rethink how things could be.
