It’s a logistical nightmare for football clubs at all levels, particularly juniors and Ammos who don’t have fenced off facilities to control access and crowd numbers.

As TRSM points out, how do clubs run a regular days fixtures with each match involving 70+ players and officials.

Financially the WAFL and Ammos both need restrictions to be relaxed to the WAFC Stage 5 - crowds allowed and bar available. The clubs will all be operating with reduced income from memberships fees, sponsorship and the WAFL clubs can expect a significant reduction in WAFC payments. With no WC or Freo reserves teams that will be exacerbated with a further $900k in Licence fees lost.

Playing this season will see nearly all clubs post huge financial losses and unfortunately the impact on club incomes will be felt next year with a number of businesses struggling.

As much as I want footy back ASAP, I’d rather not have footy this year and make sure there is a viable competition with all clubs still in existence in 2021

Bad luck they should still have to pay their licence fee as its not the WAFL/WAFC decision to pull their players out of these state competitions.
They were all set up and ready to play in 2020 before the pandemic restrictions hit in fact SD have already played WCE in a pre season fixture this year.

I reiterate. those people are on the move.

People are not moving on the train in the mornings or afternoons and going by the pictures of the escalators they were standing still.
But if people think there is more dramas at a wafl game in fresh air than a packed train or shopping centre indoors then fair enough, I didn’t realise the virus was smart enough to work out how fast you walk

Hypothetical question. If the WAFL was to allow crowds into games at the resumption which I think everyone agrees is the only viable option, how many people would be able to fit in to an average suburban oval like Fremantle or Leederville assuming that the Governments rules on social distancing must be followed? You would probably need a surveyor to look at each ground to find out the true answer and each oval is going to be different but my educated guess would be 1000 max. If that is true is this enough paying customers for the games to be financially viable for clubs? or should the WAFC seek an partial exemption from these strict rules to enable more people to attend?

Claremont has the smallest capacity and has approximately 6000sqm of space available for spectators - more than enough for a typical WAFL crowd adhering to 4sqm distancing - but 3/4 of them will need to be out in the elements with no cover

If you reckon there is social distancing everywhere then you need to get out more.

Why most shopping areas are allowed like that is simply to attract people into spending as much money as possible. The shops I visit are well behaved, with the required distancing, many people are well behaved and courteous. Obviously a bit out of hand in some areas. However many people would be just mooching around aimlessly with no real essential reason for being at said shopping mall. Obviously this being what the government favours.
Also if I was to attend a Wafl match and park myself on the outer grassy knoll taking in the sunshine and fresh air, I'm not sticking my hand in my pocket all the time at a shopping facility. Watching the footy is spending far less money and would attract far less numbers of people because it's only footy fans are there. I do tend to agree with the previous comments comparing shopping crowds and Wafl footy attendances. In many instances, more people would be at a mall than at a Wafl match.
Can't see why the Wafl cannot proceed with the current distancing if people do the right thing and employ common sense.

I would prefer that they just write the season off and work on next year. Then maybe the WAFC incompetence and the AFL elite magnificence wont annoy me anymore. So the WAFC in their statement 'were made aware' that the AFL players wont be playing in the WAFL. Gee, good that they are on the ball with that then.

Honestly it's all bullshit. We don't need AFL players. No bastard has the virus here, those that have or did got it o'seas. Get WAFL back, WITH CROWDS. Stop being paranoid and pretentious.
Get on your bike.

What is that bloke smoking down there at Peel suggesting they will look 'Australia wide' for 3 or 4 players to top them up now that the Dockers have been pulled out of the WAFL?
This is on top of his other lame brain suggestion the other day that the Eagles & Dockers leftovers not picked to play afl play at Peel together this season to get their match fitness.
No John you will not be bringing in outsiders from Interstate you will be playing the actual Peel boys you have there from your 3 sides League, Reserves & Colts (the one's you keep telling us are the future down there) like was the actual charter when that mob of crabs were brought into the WAFL comp against most people's advice and interests!
