The season is due to kick orf with Perth playing the opener on the 3rd of April.
But is it?
Just need some clarity as there being a whisper the season has been postponed until May?
Not sure if I was hearing things?

That makes it the first 7 weeks of the season are lost.
And 13 weeks of fixtures to be played.
Cannot see the first 7 weeks matches being rearranged to be played at the end because that takes the qualifying matches out to the second week of October. Then the Finals need playing after that.
Looks likely a very short season coming up.

I'd imagine the price of memberships will need to be reduced this season? Given the fact of looking likely being a short one? 7 lost weeks is roughly a third of the fixtures gone, and does that equate to a third off the price of memberships? For those whom have paid already, maybe a reduction in price next season?
Just asking.

Now that WA has lifted some restrictions, some sort of normality has returned to life.
Apparently the 8 Wafl clubs are meeting sometime next week to discuss a possible start date to the season. Or the decision might be taken as not? Should be an interesting meeting with many topics to discuss and work through. If a start is recommended, I'd imagine there would be a lag of several weeks for training and possibly a start as stated of late June into July. With the gatherings rule lifted to 10 persons would allow some people to attend games around the grounds, although social distancing would need to be observed. With WA's relatively low virus numbers, a Wafl start next month or July might be a recommendation from next weeks meeting?

Let us hope the WAFL season can get under way soon WAG and with crowds allowed to attend as long as social distancing is adhered too, as it would be pointless playing if no crowds are allowed too attend especially with not every match covered as well.
I believe the WAFL working party were meeting today about what the season might look like and some of the other issues etc.

From a Club's perspective the best option may be to cancel 2020.
They may then survive financially.
Better financial result by not playing.

Why DF?
If we continue to leave the borders closed to Interstate & Overseas travellers, continue to keep the numbers of Covid-19 patient numbers minimal I dont see why we wouldnt eventually allow spectators at the WAFL especially if pubs, restaurants, clubs etc are allowed to re-open soon.
As long as social distancing regulations are adhered too why wouldnt crowds be allowed into WAFL games lets face it the numbers would be 2000 tops or less per game and you would have more than that at shopping centres, schools etc that have stayed open.
