Hey Guys. Im not an e grade player but I do play for a club with and E Grade side that get smashed every week but ethier the bigger power clubs or One Team clubs that end up in E grade. My suggestion is a shake up of the E grade System. I know most people will probaly hate this idea but hear goes.....

At the start of the year we sort all teams in all four e grade competions into regional comps eg: North-south-Metro etc. From that they all play each other once at the end of that 9 weeks a regional premier and runner up are crowned in each division and all teams are sorted into a league dertimined by there form in regionals. E1 would be made up by the Premiers and Runner Ups from all four grades, plus 2 wildcards. E2 would be made up by the 3rd and 4th finishing teams and 2 wildcard teams and that filters down until we get to E4.

From there every team will play each other once and go into a finals system like we have now.

I believe this will strengthen the E grade comp as you have somthing to play for in the first 9 rounds and if you are struggling at the start you know that by the end of the season you will be coming up against teams closer to your skill level, I know my Valley Boys would like this.

Cheers and sorry for the Essay, Any feedback welcome

word on the grapevine that BBFC got up for their first win of the season in the E1 grade comp. I along with many others are waiting with baited breath for CantKickCantHandballs review, as I believe he had a starring roll in the victory.

Well done bulldogs, glad to hear you got off the mark.

As for Rossmoyne being beatable, not a chance in hell.
Outplayed for 4 quarters by a team that should not be in e grade, if swan districts have lost a number of their stars then Rossmoyne are a real chance of knocking them off later in the season.

Sorry to hear you guys had a tough day at the office Highpants. I still say they are beatable if teams can get the stars to align all at once, having said that agree that it won't be easy. Remember playing Rossmoyne in B grade about a decade or so ago when that giant Bainesy was playing for them. They certainly have fallen through the grades quickly since.

Went and watched a couple of the old boys from Noranda tackle Whitfords. Close game, fitness cost Noranda in the end going down by a goal or thereabouts. The reserve's coach at 55 years of age donned the boots for Noranda to fill numbers and actually had an impact on the game, especially when he was yellow carded during 2nd quarter for falling over which cost the team a shot on goal from goal square which in the end turned out to be the difference. Game was played in good spirit between 2 teams with equal ability which was reflected in the scoreline. Pity about them other 2 teams being in E1 taking the fun out of it for the rest of the comp...hmmmmmmm....believe I'm starting to contradict myself

Rossmoyne didnt fall all those grades, they just no longer have a ressies team and can only play in E grade.
I think Jimigatz that this year was an unorganised mess for the E grade fixtures but if they leave them alone now relegation should sort them out within 2 seasons.

Why wait 2 years? next year ALL single team clubs should be in the same division along with teams that are consistently strong.

So this year it would/should have been:
Swan Districts
Rossmoyne
Coolbelup
Beechboro
Bayswater
Safety Bay
Forrestdale
plus 1 or 3 teams that are always good

This way all of the guys who are players 45-66 of their clubs are being smashed by the best 22 who at the end of the year are probably going to put a soft flag on their club wall at the end of the year.

I wouldn't disagree too much with the E1 grade there Gren. Sounds fair enough.
Although Bayswater are in E3 and they are 5th!! They are not a great side.
SafetyBay were in E1 last year and finished 8th.
The problem with the E grade mess is exactly that the league allowed teams to jump to different grades. Relegation will be the only fair cure.
You may be able to fine tune the jump for next year but they screwed it up this year so chances they'll do it again.
I don't get why Hamersley Carine have a team in E2 and E3... Shouldn't they be in one of the D grades?

Its certainly a mess this year but I would prefer to see the League stick to its guns and move forward with 2 up 2 down and it will sort it self out as has been suggested

I'm with you Scooby. As long as the league sends them up if they earn it regardless of them being a one team club or not. If they don't then only fair they have a specific grade for one team clubs. I guess it would work hypothetically until maybe the day the Swan District Wooroloo team won a B grade flag...

Up until this year there were only 3 E grades, and given the amount of teams coming into, and going out of these grades each year promotion/relegation wouldn't have made it any fairer.

The league won't be promoting any single team grade above E1 as the D's up are all based on a League/Reserves setup.

Hamersley are not the only club to have 2 E sides in different grades, Kingsley and a couple of others do also, as there is now only one D grade for 3rds/4ths.

I heard a whisper that Swans are possibly going to have a reserves side in the future so they'll be able to enter the C grades.
